The article “The Ground is Shifting Under Obamacare” by Scott Rasmussen is very insightful and explains the flaws of Obamacare as a whole. I believe that Obamacare was not as successful as it should have been and he explains that it is not logical to expect everyone to want the same full coverage health care with the same expensive premiums. “The reality is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to health insurance. Different people have different needs and preferences.” This section of the article really helped me understand what he meant, when explaining why Obamacare didn’t and never will work.
The Affordable Heatlhcare Act’s ideal change should be to a privately owned system giving the people more control over our own health care. Ted Cruz made the statement that Obamacare, which got us into
Second, also the tax of Affordable Care Act has disadvantages. According to the Congressional Budget Office(CBO) “Those increases were more than offset by a reduction of $97 billion in the projected costs for the tax credits and other subsidies for health insurance provided through the exchanges and related spending, a reduction of $20 billion in the projected costs for tax credits for small employers, and a reduction of $107 billion in deficits from the projected revenue effects of changes in taxable compensation and penalty payments and from other small changes in estimated spending.” (Congressional Budget Office, March 2012). The Affordable Care Act levied the new taxations include the health insurers, investment income, tanning salons,
The Affordable Care Act or “Obamacare” has constituted one of the most important topics since its implementation in 2010. Since 2010, the fate of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been uncertain. The ACA was a historic achievement for the Obama administration and Congressional Democrats. But it passed Congress without a single Republican vote, and the GOP subsequently mounted legal and legislative challenges to Obamacare, vowing to repeal and replace it. (Oberlander, 2012, p.2165).
While I am completely on board with the goals of Obamacare, as I believe the achievement of a truly universal form of healthcare would be a major achievement of any government, culture, or civilization should be proud, I think the arguments advanced by Mangan and McCardle are sufficient to demonstrate that the processes of implementation currently employed by the administration of Obamacare are inefficient and ultimately unsustainable over the long run. Fundamentally, Obamacare seems to me to be trying to ‘have its cake and eat it
Also as stated before, Obamacare loses peoples jobs as the cost of having insurance without their will which invades the person's constitutional rights. Also as stated before, Obamacare loses people jobs as the cost of having insurance was too much and was costly and it forces business to lose employees in order to save money and eliminate costly purchases. Both sides of the issue make Obamacare so controversial as one side wants to repeal for its negative reasons and the other side repeal for its negative reasons and the other side wants to keep
The Affordable Care Act is also called Obamacare. It is also called Obamacare because it passed under the administration of Barack Obama. The ACA speaks for the most significant reform of the health care system since Medicare and Medicaid. Obama’s goal of the ACA was to reduce the amount of Americans that did not have insurance. He also wanted to reduce the overall cost of health care visits.
With Obamacare the idea of a universal system of healthcare, it is finally obtainable. It is illegal to go without healthcare in the United States. The Affordable Health Care Act, implemented by the Obama Administration in 2014, gave healthcare to all individuals in the United States. The Obamacare Individual Mandate forces Obamacare under penalty of law. If a person does not apply for Obamacare, and therefore, have no healthcare.
Obamacare was supposed to help businesses grow and save money, but now it is making it harder for business owners to have a successful business because of all the extra unnecessary fees that were
Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is a master when it comes to rhetoric and he knows how to appeal the frustrated masses even when it 's unjustified. But, the real issue is a true affordable health care for all Americans. Clearly, Trumpcare is not the answer nor, is Obamacare. It has many flaws but, it 's best system working for now. I do believe that the "The Blame Game" should stop when it comes the wellbeing of Americans as suggested by the conclusion of the lecture.
With Donald Trump’s presidency, Republicans are trying to replace Obamacare, which could be both beneficial and harmful to health care providers like UnitedHealth Group. Millions of Americans are insured through Obamacare, therefore if it were taken away, there would be more exposure for health care insurers such as UnitedHealth Group. The abolishment of Obamacare could be beneficial to the company because it would permanently eliminate the Health Insurance Industry Tax, which could overall save UnitedHealth Group millions. On the other hand, since the Affordable Care Act was launched in 2010, Medicaid has been one of UnitedHealth Group’s largest money-makers.
The Affordable Health Care Act, also known as “Obamacare”, is basically just Obama trying to make sure that the whole nation has insurance and if they do not have it by January 1, 2014, they will be penalized with a fine. To make insurance more affordable, many Americans are able to qualify for a subsidy that lowers the cost depending on age and income. Also, “Obamacare” made it impossible for insurers’ to discriminate, or charge higher rates, for anyone who has pre-existing conditions or for a certain gender. Medicare will also be easier to obtain due to requirement of insurance. This law was passed in the U.S. on March 23, 2010 by Congress and President Barack Obama.
Healthcare in the United States is in desperate need of reform. There are several rationales to further explain this proposition. As an illustration, the Declaration of Independence states our unalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In other words, every individual should be entitled to healthcare as it preserves life and promotes the general welfare. The federal government should, therefore, enact a program of universal health to better protect and serve all of its citizens.
The GOP health care plan is also going to be either expensive or does not have good coverage which will affect the lower class people. In other words, I think that the GOP health care plan is going to help the rich get richer and the poor get
The affordable care act was enacted in 2010 and started functioning in 2014, it was an act to ensure citizens are covered though it did not cover everyone living out about twenty-seven million who are still not insured. Amongst those who were not insured are illegal immigrants, low-income individuals in states who could not afford premiums, individuals who unquestionable reasoned insurance was not financially sound, and some who believed they could live without insurance cover. Those who are insured are still not satisfied since coverage of health insurance is not enough since they lack better quality care to patients who seek healthcare services. This, in turn, makes the patients not to get a service that gives health. The impact of lack of coverage to those who are not insured under the PPACA is that when you are capable of being insured and you don’t you will pay a fee called individual shared responsibility payment.
