Nearly every citizen of the United States (U.S.) can attest to the fact the current election does not have a perfect candidate running for office. Most people will also agree that this election is incredibly significant because it will determine the path that this country takes. With all this in mind the first candidate running for the office is Hillary Clinton on the Democrat and liberal side. She has a strong background in politics, including her position as Secretary of State for the U.S. for four years, being the First Lady during Bill Clinton’s two term presidency, and being a senator for New York during a 9 near period. A prime instance of Clinton’s skills as Secretary of State were shown when American troops were pulled out of Iraq, which left a power vacuum in the middle east that lead to the strengthening of ISIS (npr). Once again her inability to plan ahead and predict how others are going to respond was shown. Another example of American foreign relations during Clinton’s time as Secretary of State is how Libya fell apart after the death of its dictator Moammar Gadhafi, which President Barack Obama has stated was his worst failure (CNN). Considering the president of the entire U.S. is saying that his worst failure is in the area where Clinton was in charge it brings into question her ability to do her job. When taking all these instances into account it becomes clear that Clinton’s time in office has in no way showed her skills in foreign relations if anything it has only showed how bad she is at it. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has met with several leaders around the world and has
