Family is one of the most sacred and wonderful groups in the world, but the effects on its members are not universally positive. Sometimes, ordinary family bonds are broken, and the family unit becomes an agent of great destruction. Within abnormal situations like these, we can often see more clearly a person ’s problem solving ability. Due to a lack of support from family members, they can be sent into more primitive instincts of survival.
**My Journey to Academic Excellence and Personal Growth** As I embark on my journey through high school, I am reminded of the fundamental question that defines us all, who am I? My name is Beauty Adams, and I aspire to attend Cass Technical High School, an institution renowned for its commitment to academic excellence. Two traits that define me are resilience and curiosity. These traits help my ability to overcome challenges and my insatiable thirst for knowledge. Despite setbacks, I persevere, and I am driven by a very curious curiosity to explore the world around me.

Maus and Fun Home both use the medium of comics to tell very personal and delicate stories. Art Spiegelman uses Maus to tell the moving and emotional story of his father’s survival of the Holocaust; Alison Bechdel uses Fun Home to tell the story of her father’s death and the exploration of her identity. Although both texts are different in many ways, the both use the comic medium to portray an outsider experience. While Spiegelman uses the medium to construct an animal hierarchy and Bechdel uses the medium to combine multiple moments in her life into one story, both authors use pictorial detail to shed light on the outsider experience they are each trying to portray.

Besides education, I am highly overwhelmed by her versatility. She has many interests beyond the class. Her active participation in various college and state level sports and dance competitions bring pride to our Department. It is hard to believe how a student can excel in all fields. Therefore, it is right to say that she is an ALL-ROUNDER.
My placement was in the lowest reading group at the start of the year, and I desired to advance; on the contrary, Mrs. Ruhl used careful wording to express how I wasn't ready and my grades needed improvement. Including intense study, I stabilized my test scores, and it felt spectacular when she bumped me up to the advanced reading class. Though deceased, I wish I could tell Mrs. Ruhl the positive impact she's had on my life. My fourth vivid memory of my literacy journey took place in Mrs. Taylor's ninth grade class at the Philadelphia High School for Girls.
She is still only eleven and has a lot learn over her upcoming
The school started out with 7 students and has increased to almost 89 today. Some girls went to other high schools, others went on to college with a few getting their Master’s Degree, and still others became pregnant and dropped out. This prompted her to put a medical program in place to keep these girls from going back to their parents who did not have the money to feed them, or homes that were abusive.
