If you leave something around my house, I'll tell you to move it back, clean it up, throw it in the trash - don't matter, just get rid of it. I need stuff neat, organized. And once I start cleaning stuff, I don't stop until it's done. Monica has receptive activity and impulses which she constantly thinks of doing in her mind due to OCD. She has an unreasonable concern with cleaning and making everything in her household perfect. Her actions are shown as she constantly cleans her kitchen, and living room. The thoughts she possess are intrusive and create a high anxiety to her. Monica’s obsessions of cleaning created many compulsions. Monica’s most common compulsion is hoarding one closet in her house which no one knows about, repeating her daily chores, and rearranging her furniture. It is common for people with OCD such as Monica to have these compulsions due to her disorder. Majority of people who deal with OCD have a hard time with getting rid of there obsessions and compulsions. Some people have control of their obsessions and compulsions, but Monica is unable to control her obsessions and compulsions even when she is working. Monica’s symptoms do not leave her thoughts, in fact they become worse everyday. People who suffer with OCD avoid situations that trigger their obsessions, but Monica cannot stop her OCD she will always persuade her obsessions and compulsions. For example she states, “If only there were a smaller one to clean this one.” This quotation means that although Monica is cleaning her vacuum, she is using a smaller vacuum to cleaning her larger vacuum.
