The background of the top right slide is completely blacked out, except for the words. The black background is very intentional, causing the reader to understand the seriousness of the corrupt situation. Similarly, the bottom slide depicting the jail cell is almost completely blacked out. This is also very intentional, showing the sadness that surrounds the cell itself, with the only white thing being the window, which is also important, considering it is the only depiction of freedom on that panel. The middle portion of the page showing the mayor making the decision to release the prisoners is shaded very differently however, having a mostly white and light gray color scale opposing to the darker colors of the panels surrounding it.

Within every high school in the United States of America, stereotypes affect the everyday life of adolescents. The author John Hughes’ created a classic movie The Breakfast Club to demonstrate and understand the difficulties of puberty and how it affects adolescents today. The characters within the movie are stereotyped by their peers and their teachers and face the challenge of personal identity that affect their personal, parent and teacher relationships. Along with this I will discuss the cognitive advancement or the lack of cognitive advancement of three characters associated within the movie.
Due to the constraints of the time period, the film was released in black and white. While this may seem like a disadvantage, Curtiz uses the black and white spectrum to better display the emotions of characters, and make actions clearer. Because of the lack of color, the audience is more adept to differences in light. The shadows represent the darkness that surrounds many of the characters, and the uncertainty of their thoughts, while Curtiz uses light to show nobility and truth. While most likely not readily apparent to most audiences, the lighting of the film offers a way for people to clue into the emotions of the characters through a beautiful
This picture shows a building titled “Rex Theatre For The Colored People”. The first thing that catches the viewer's attention is how desolate it looks. No one is in the theater, on the street or at neighboring franchises. One could even say that it almost looks like the theater has been closed for a while.
A photograph can mean so much to different people, but it’s ultimate purpose is to capture an important moment in someone’s life and be able to hold onto a physical copy of a memory. Photographs enact a certain nostalgia for the past, the good times or perhaps an important person or location; it’s a memory you want to last indefinitely. It’s a subject many people don’t touch on when they examine a film like Blade Runner (1982), but director Ridley Scott’s film does place an emphasis on the importance of photographs and what they can mean to people. The film depicts photos as a gateway to nostalgia, the immortalization of important figures and how photographs can deceive their owners. When you hold onto a photography they are generally a preserved version of a past memory that is important or a time of happiness.

Introduction Visual and performing arts tend to act as separate entities within the field of education; considerably isolated from the majority of academia, these sectors are often considered to be secondary or elective options after completing primary education. The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, however, when an institute begins a budgeting process, the arts are rarely considered a top priority. For example, during periods of recession many public schools within the United Stated were forced to cut visual, performing and musical arts programs, despite studies that proved the exposure to the arts to be beneficial for students both academically and in extracurricular activities. Only when we put the work or stress away temporarily, can we truly feel how beautiful the place we are living is. As a pessimistic person, I often get stressed easily. Usually I would put myself in a quiet place, away from the crowds and the hardship I am facing. Tai Po Waterfront Park is the place that cheers me up.
