Odysseus the Brave Hero
In Homer's “The Odyssey”, the protagonist, Odysseus is fighting in the 10 year war against Troy. They win the war and now he and his men are trying to get back to their home, Ithaca. He angers the god of the sea, Poseidon, and now he has a god as an enemy. Poseidon sends waves after waves blowing him and his crew to islands, each having a conflict like monsters and goddesses.
One of the monsters he faces is the son of Poseidon, which is a cyclops named “Polyphemus”. A heroic action he does when facing the monster is, he bravely gives him wine to force Polyphemus to sleep, then crafts a spear to impale his eye and escape.
