In Homer's epic poem “The Odyssey,” as the hero Odysseus journeys home to Ithaca, he faces numerous encounters that could have prevented his return. Despite these challenges, he perseveres and succeeds in reaching his homeland. There are various themes displayed throughout the poem. For example, transformation and growth, hospitality, and the significance of homecoming and loyalty. Overall, the themes all contribute to the central theme of perseverance in the face of adversity.
