Rosa Parks became a symbol of the civil rights movement as soon as she stood up for what she believed in . Refused and surrendered her seat to a white passenger on a segregated montgomery Alabama bus which made people take action on the 381 day bus boycott that helped lunch nationwide efforts to end segregation in public places. She changed world history; even if that meant going to jail and even risking her life. Even though Odysseus and Rosa Parks have similar leadership skills Rosa Parks has made an act upon history, she not only changed views on others in a positive way but made people stand up for them self and fight for what they believe in and Odysseus has had many victories but has showed hubris sides to getting those victories …show more content…
Odysseus shows hubris sides to him more than leadership sides that make him less and less a hero .“I know well how to handle the polished bow, and would be first to strike any man with an arrow aimed at a company of hostile men … But I will say that I stand far out ahead of all others such as are living mortals now and feed on the earth. Only I will not set myself against men of the generations before, not with Herakles nor Eurytos of Oichalia, who set themselves against the immortals with the bow, and therefore great Eurytos died suddenly not came to an old age in his own mansions, since Apollo in anger against him killed him, because he had challenged Apollo in archery.” (8.215-228) In this quote he more or less shows pride saying he’s the best archery and just pretty much bragging about everything thinking he is the best at everything . Another example of Odysseus having too much pride is when he blames the situation on his men and calls them fools “.. then i urged them to cut and run, set sail, but would they listen ? not those mutinous fools” (9.213-50) He blames this situation on his crew and doesn't take any responsibility at all ; He's being self centered because his men are also going through alot just like him trying to get
