In the Odyssey, Odysseus had to go to The Land of the Dead in order to speak with Tiresias who is a dead sage. He had to ask him about his future and how to get back to his homeland, Ithaca. He gave him useful information that helped him with his life. For example, he said to avoid the cattle of Helios. He is the god of the sun. If Odysseus’ crew had just listened to what Tiresias said, then they wouldn’t be in any trouble. He also saw his dead mother there, along with his dead crew mate. He asked his mother how she died. She said that she killed herself from grief. This probably made Odysseus feel guilty since it was his fault. His crew mate died from getting drunk and falling off of a ladder. Since I have a fear of dying, if he says that it’s not that bad, I would be less scared and it would be more likely for me to have more fun and life and take chances. If he says it’s the opposite, then I would be more fearful and do more safer things. I would also like to know what he was like. My dad doesn’t usually talk about him that much. Another thing I would ask is where he went when he died. If the afterworld is real, I would ask him if it is really like everyone thinks. If it’s not, I would ask what it is like then. I would also ask him if he stayed on Earth as a ghost or something. One time, when my sister was young, she said that she saw someone in the corner of the ceiling. My mother thought that maybe it was him, my grandfather. Another thing I would ask is if he wished he could have done anything differently in his life. I would also ask what he wished he could have done before his death. I would ask him what he misses the most from being alive. This all would teach me that I have to live life to the fullest and not be afraid to do things because life is
