In the book Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, there are some characters who are good, and some who are bad. I chose Curley, George, and Curley’s wife , because I thought they were the most interesting characters in this book. I chose Curley for no empathy because, Curley didn’t care about anyone except for his wife, and I think that Curley didn’t even care about her wife, it was just lust. Curley was also rude towards everyone and, he even attacked people who he thinks were with her wife. At the end, when Lennie killed Curley’s wife, Curley wanted Lennie dead, he didn’t care if someone like George will be hurt by killing his own friend, he just wanted him dead. On page 98 Curley says “He’s got Carlson’s Luger. Course we’ll shoot ‘im”. He also say’s “I’m gonna shoot the guts outta that big bastard myself, even if I only got one hand.” These quotes prove that Curley doesn’t care if he kills someone, or how that person feels. …show more content…

He made Lennie think that their dreams could come true to make him happy, even though George knew that it wasn't possible. George also made Candy feel better when his dog died. On page 11 George says “If I was alone I could live so easy. I could go get a job an' work, an' no trouble. No mess at all, and when the end of the month come I could take my fifty bucks and go into town and get whatever I want" In this quote George talk’s about all the things he could do if he was alone, he could just abandon Lennie if he wishes too, but he chooses to stay, because he has sympathy for Lennie. George cares about everyone, he makes them feel good, George is the only one who is thoughtful, compared to everyone else, the other’s mostly care about
