When we read a book we typically don’t stop and try to research the author; Okay, sure there is a small autobiography about the author on the back of the books but we never go any deeper than that. This research paper will help you connect and understand Alice Walker more then you have before (bio.com). Alice walker was born on February 9th, 1944 in Eaton Georgia. She was born into a poor family of 10. Her Dads income was share cropping while her mother was a maid. With both jobs her parents still had to struggle with feeding all of the family. Walker was the youngest of all the boys which made her a perfect target for shenanigans and roughhousing; during a game of Cowboys and Indians one of her brothers shot her in the eye with a BB gun. After graduating high school Walker was presented with a scholarship to Spellman College after taking about a year worth of classes she decided that it was not where she wanted to be so she transferred to Sarah Lawrence.
