Dear Okonkwo,
I know you see the world much differently than I do, but there are some things that are uncalled for especially toward women in your village. You have accepted that gender stereotyping is something to live with, which in my view it is not. Women have so much potential inside them that are never brought out to light due to men who believe they overpower them just because of the gender differences.
Okonkwo, you have the heavy hand in your household. You have thought your family that women must behave a certain way in order to be look upon as proper women. Women are seen or more like to be passive, obedient, and be a role model to the young ones. The stereotypes show that only men are wised enough to do all the businesses and become leaders. This only left the women to be perpetuated as uneducated, emotional, and unable to provide for themselves or even family. Women in your village Okonkwo had no voices in that time era but now times have changed women are not just view as household providers instead the main providers. Women have the same rights as a man but it was never seen. I can happily say that now in my time and in my village people recognize the value of women. The value of woman may not be seen at fist but after a fight they end up seeing the importance of a woman. It was not easy for me to have a role in my society but with support of my followers I was able to accomplish so much. My role in society is so empowering. It feels great to know you can make a difference in the eyes of the women. My whole journey began with the Green Belt Movement this made me the strong leader that I am. I was able to provode for my community. I helped save my community and as well made it a better place for my people to live. Everything changed for me I became an educated women and an inspiration for other women. Now, Okonkwo tell me how women cannot be considered leaders or ones to follow out on business errands? Look at me how I have just challenged youtr way of thinking. This for you would be a disgrace to the traditions something unwomanly. You should now that women are capable of many things that will and can surprise
