Young Earth Creationists Verses Old Earth Creationists In the following paragraphs I will state the differences and similarities of Young Earth Creationists and Old Earth Creationists. I will discuss in this paper for young earth creationists: a six literal days time telling, the seventh day of rest, and the age of earth according to Biblical genealogies. However, these six days are viewed as long periods of geological time. This has been determined through viewing the logical time that needs to take place between days three through six during creation as found in Genesis 1. A gestation period of at least one year would allow the vegetation ample time to grow and thrive. Old earth creationists also claim mankind is continuing to live in the seventh day of creation as recorded in Genesis 1. Those that view the earth as old believe this rest began at the time of God’s resting at the point of creation and will remain until Jesus Christ returns to earth the second time. Lastly, they believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old. They think this because that is how far we can see into space and how far away is the farthest star we can see in the atmosphere There are a few similarities found between the young earth creationists and the old earth creationists that must be taken into account.
