The Olive Branch Petition Americans didn't want to break free from Great Britain.They thought they could of reach an agreement with the king that would right the wrongs done to them. The Patriots George Washington:At the age of 14 years he had the desire of becoming a seaman.When he became 17 years of age he had become one of the most accurate surveyors in Virginia.
