‘’Tom, I wouldn’t ever got into all this trouble if it hadn’t ‘a’ been for that money; now you just take my sheer of it along you’rn, and gimme a ten-center sometimes – not many times becuz I don’t give a dern for a thing thout it’s tollable hard to git- and you go and beg off for me with the wider.” This was ironic to me for Huck to say in my eyes crazy. He has been dirty and wild and roaming he’s whole life. Now he lives with Widder and has stability a nice place to stay and is always pampered but he doesn’t like it. That is shocking because if I was homeless and didn’t have anywhere to stay and then got pampered I would love it. Also he say he wish he didn’t have the money either I don’t understand that. He should of just tried …show more content…

The narrator always referred to Tom, Huck Aunt Polly and etc. The narrator did not use words like I me or my to let you know he was talking about himself. However he always knew what was going on that it is an omniscient point of view. The author knows about all characters, if it was first person it would be things we wouldn’t know, about the story it would just be what someone suspects the other person did. “Tom said to himself that it was not such a hollow world, after all. He had discovered a great law of human action, without knowing it- namely, that in order to make a boy covet a thing, it is only necessary to make the thing difficult to attain.” Pg 13 This is a great example of third person omniscient view it didn’t say to myself it said Tom said to himself. Tom Is correct in his point of view making things hard to attain makes people want it things more. First Jim the Negro wanted to wash the fence Tom was like no saying no only made Jim want to paint the fence more. Jim wanted to paint the fence so bad that he was going to let Tom get his bucket and paint the fence. Then Ben had come Tom told him no but Ben ins stented and traded tom a apple for painting the fence. Tom traded work for items that is what proves his theory true making it hard for them to paint the fence made them want it more. His theory also proves true in real life, if there is a cute girl and she plays hard to get it only makes …show more content…

Spare the rod spile the child, as the good book says.’’ Aunt Polly is feeling bad that she does not disciple Tom the way she feels the bible tells her too. It’s not that Aunt Polly doesn’t want to put Tom in his place she is kind hearted and won’t like how it feels if she does it. Also Aunt Polly is a Christian and suspects she is sinning by not punishing Tom the right way. This is important because since Tom knows Aunt Polly is not going to really punish him he goes out and does what he wants. If she would punish Tom correctly he would not do as many bone headed things in the story. This gives me the reader background information with the relationship of Tom and Aunt Polly. Tom often tricks Aunt Polly when he goes out and is places where he shouldn’t be. If Aunt Polly really watched him and had a strict set of rules Tom would be more like Sid classy and civilized. This quote is important for us because it shows why Tom does what he does. It is obvious that Tom does not fear his Aunt Polly so he does what he wants and takes the little punishment. A male role model like father or uncle, would have been great in Tom’s left that would of gave him someone to terror and keep him on the right track. Aunt Polly didn’t do terrible in any means she did the best she could and always showed
