Jack has a queue of patients more than five elephants long and it is only 5:30 am, his shift had begun just half an hour before. – It was going to be another long day. Before the war, he had a reasonable shift, eight hours a day with the same regulars for check-ups; but now he has longer hours, more hectic days, lots of different people and has more advanced treatment to carry out. Also, he has more time to spend with Lisa; have nice walks and see friends but now Jack is moody and tired on the weekends and just wants to relax. He has six nice colleagues (Linda, Matt, Kirsty, Jake, Sophie, Edward) they are very loyal to Jack; they sometimes help Jack at work. Jack has been at the surgery for ten years now and it has changed a lot over time. Today was a productive day for Jack he saved Mrs. Green’s life as she was shot in the leg; he also saved Mrs. Blackwood’s life as she suffered a miscarriage. The public is very thankful for having Jack as a tremendous GP. Jack just had a moment where he thought how successful he was as a GP. An hour later, he checked on his list if he had a next appointment it was his half an hour Lunch break. Jack had Beef and fruit for lunch which was his favorite. Fifteen minutes later, Jack had finished his lunch and decided to check his letterbox for mail; he opened the latch to the letterbox slowly, so the mail wouldn’t fall out, there was only one letter; which Jack was surprised by because he normally gets a lot more. He ran back to the surgery room with his letter and sat down comfortably in his chair; He ripped the envelope open it was from his best friend Billy’s sister(Amanda) saying that Billy has sadly been killed by the Zeppelins in a shootout. He rushed out and opened the door to his car and turned his engine on and raced home as quick as a flash. Jack went to go and break the news to Lisa, they were both shocked and devastated by the news. Jack lay back in his armchair, he thought about the great times he spent with Billy. Both Lisa and Jack cuddled each other for about a minute. Then, Lisa decided to go and bake Jack’s favorite cake (Chocolate cake) to cheer him up. They both had a quiet night looking through pictures of Billy. The next morning, Jack and Lisa woke up silently still upset about the news of Billy’s death. Jack spent the day grieving and thinking and then took Lisa into his arms and said, “I need to go and support our country against this war. I need to do it for Billy.” Lisa looked frightened.
