Are online colleges educationally compared to traditional colleges? With many still questioning the legitimacy of online colleges, more than two out of every three colleges and universities offer degrees online. With the enrollment in online colleges increasing 40 percent from 1999 – 2009 to 21 million, it shows that online colleges are most definitely the way of the future. Online and traditional classes both are great ways to obtain an education while in college. They both hold the same commitment, and that is to aid students to reach their goals while they attend college. Although both of these settings are great, but they do differ in many ways. Traditional classes tend to perform at a slower pace versus online classes because online classes take on more assignments compared to a traditional class setting. In traditional classes, the student has the privilege of receiving an assignment, having time for the teacher to discuss the assignment, and still being given additional time to finalize the task. On the other hand, students that enroll in online classes get a short and descriptive idea of the assignment and immediately commit to finalize the task by the required due date.
Second, the itinerary of an online education allows you to have a large amount of flexibility to complete tasks like reading or studying. Many online programs allow you to turn in any work by the end of the day this makes it easy for you to still accomplish various responsibilities you may have like taking care of your children, going to work, or just laying back kicking up your heels.
