Rosemary’s Baby reiterates an imperative message about family that if a marriage is not between two equal partners it becomes an ultimate prison. Especially for the wife as centuries of oppression from society and family forces her to settle for an inferior position in the marriage. Moreover, the wife would be oblivious of her lower echelon as she is engaged in putting up with the “ideal wife” image created by the society.
