Oscar was a decent person after he decided to change his life around. He went to prison for committing a crime and after he got released, he made the effort to make up the time he lost with his family and friends. Oscar was not afraid to show emotions. He tried to help people like his sister with bills and helped a customer in the food market get the right products she needed to make dinner. Additionally, he became emotional when he saw a dog dying by the gas station. This shows that Oscar has a caring heart and tried to do what he can to help others. With the struggles that Oscar was dealing with, he tried to make others happy. The police were cursing at Oscar and his friends. They even kicked and threw them in the ground. It reveals that the polices were being judgmental and made the assumption that they were the one who cause the fight because of their color skin. While Oscar was trying to explain to the police about what happened, the polices were assaulting and cursing at Oscar. They did not let him speak or allow him to get up, which led to his arrest along with his friend. While Oscar was on lying on the ground getting arrested, one of the police shot him on his back. When one of the officer saw what happened, he tried to make sure that Oscar was awake. He also made sure that the people in the train did not see what was going on. This demonstrates that police take advantages of their job and become resentful towards people like Oscar. They become fearful when they know that they did something wrong. The officer that killed Oscar seem to be afraid when he realized that he hurt an individual. With the expression in his face, it reveals that at times, polices are not fully prepared when they are dealing with issues. A way that this can happen is by having a camera on their uniform. This will lower the rate of death along of police brutality. Monitoring polices would prevent violence and death for both police and urban residents. They are less likely to use violence when police are wearing the camera on them. This would also hold police responsible for their appropriate and inappropriate conduct. When dealing with court, police would have evidence on them when an incident happen. Similar to Oscar death, urban areas such as New York and Ferguson had dealt with police brutality in today’s society. It displays that police brutality still exist years later. If police were being monitor with cameras, the evidence would have provided an accurate account of every second of police’s action. This would have helped authority reach a conclusion as to what and why it polices take action when dealing with issues. The camera would capture words that are being exchange from the police to resident, which would expose more truth as to what police really do when they are on duty. In order for this to happen, the government would have to approve the plan and provide a policy or law that should be followed by both the police and
