Overcoming Obstacles In Every Person's Life

At some point in every person’s life, they will encounter an obstacle. Some obstacles will have a minimal effect, while others have a more catastrophic effect. In either case, it is how the individual rebounds and preservers which measure their strength. In the days of tragic overdoses, it is extremely difficult to move on from losing a loved one suddenly to this epidemic. It should not be assumed that those struggling to overcome obstacles are weak, but instead, it is that they suffer a lack of resilience. Unfortunately, resilience can not learn, however, resilience is a full mind, body and soul process. 1). When a person is going through life circumstances, it is their resilience they lean on to overcome. While it is understandable that some overcome more quickly, there a few who find it almost incapable to withstand life’s trials and tribulation. In most recent years statistical data shows that “the number of drug poisoning deaths has exceeded the number of motor vehicles accidents, falls, firearms, and fire death among adult” (Green & Donnelly, 2011, p.341). After losing a young, gifted family member to this matter, life can seem hopeless. It takes a lot of energy to look to the future and envisions a life without that loved one. Though life will never be the same, time will eventually heal all wounds. It takes the love and support of those surrounding the bereaved to help preserve. A certain mental tenacity is required to cope with the new reality after a loss. One must put forth the physical effort to get their body moving and implement the plans they have conjured to overcome. Once the mind and body are activated, in time the soul will rest easy also. Sadly, this will not happen overnight. It likely will not happen within several weeks, but more often months. In worst case scenarios it could take a year or longer. Nevertheless, once overcoming this obstacle it will add only add strength and develop resilience for prospective obstacles. If anything is certain in life it is that trouble will come. The trouble that will be difficult to overlook and trouble that can be life-altering, such as death. No one ever declared that overcoming such an obstacle is ever easy, however, it can be accomplished. It takes an unconquerable amount of strength. When strength is wavering, it is the resilience that pushes
