16:6–10 As Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia, the Holy Spirit kept them from preaching in Asia. Paul received a vision that he interpreted as a divine sign to leave for Macedonia. While Paul and his companions traveled to preach the Gospel, God provided guidance. Through visions and His Spirit, He guided them places such as Macedonia. He also forbade certain places for a season such as the province of Asia. Furthermore, as they traveled to Macedonia, God sovereignly made the weather smooth since Paul sighted Samothrace the first day.   16:16–18 Since for many days, a servant girl who had a bad, foretelling, spirit would follow Paul saying that he preaches salvation, Paul rebuked the bad spirit from her.   16:19–21 Owners of the slave girl were upset because their business ceased since the spirit had left. They subsequently made Paul and Silas face the authorities.   16:22–24 After the crowd joined the attack, Paul and Silas were stripped and beaten. After, the authorities imprisoned Paul and Silas.   16:25–34 While Paul and Silas prayed and sang in the prison, God set them free. The soldier in charge of the prison saw the doors free and that the prisoners escaped. Subsequently, he sought suicide, but Paul stopped him. The soldier desired salvation, and he and his family were baptized.   16:35–40 The Magistrates decided to secretly release Paul and Silas, but Paul and Silas desired a public escort since they were Roman citizens. Submissively, the Magistrates escorted them. Paul and Silas returned to Lydia’s house. 
