Advertising is constantly evolving. Advertising now, is a lot different and more complex in comparison with a generation ago. Advertising has been forced to change to meet up with the changing of times. In the mid 1880s George Eastman formed the Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company. This company was essentially the beginning of advertising. Eastman was very successful because he went for the mass market. He realized that it was better to make a little money from a lot of people, than make a lot of money from a few people. Eastman was very dedicated to making his products better and more affordable. This thought process was relatively unheard of at this time. This is what set Eastman aside from other businessmen at the time. This is also what made him so successful.
As his product began to make a profit, a very large profit I might add, Eastman spent 750,000 dollars, a ridiculous amount of money at the time, on advertising. The key to his successes with advertising was that it was good advertising. This ultimately led to a …show more content…

A good slogan, for example, became vital to the well-being of companies and their products. Advertising began to hit humans in their “weak” spots. For example, in the early 1910s, anxiety of people became a colossal epidemic. Companies used this weakness to sell their products. They began tricking people into buying products. People began to believe they needed products they never needed before.
