I read Paper Towns by John Green. The novel carries 305 pages and stars Quentin Jacobsen a teenage high school senior and the supposed girl of his dreams Margo Roth Spiegelman. The novel takes place in Orlando Florida. I chose this book because it is widely known and has been suggested to me frequently by friends and family. Also, I have seen many people at school read the book.

One theme of the novel is people are not always who they say they are. Quentin (aka Q) knew Margo for many years and in that time had not yet identified what kind of person she really is. After hardship and failure Quentin finds Margo and in doing that he also finds her authentic personality. Another theme could be following what you believe in. Quentin suspected Margo had killed herself but he refused to believe she was dead. He pursued the leads Margo left behind and never gave up hope. Quentin Jacobsen is a high schooler that has been in love with his friend Margo for years. After finding a dead body when the two were younger they became closer as friends. Soon, in high school Margo drifted to more popular kids and Quentin spent his time with the band kids. Among the marching band are Quentin’s two best friends Ben and Marcus also known as Radar. After a night of fun and vandalism with Quentin, Margo disappears. A string of witty clues are left for Quentin and his friends.
