Paper Towns, one of the many John Green’s best sellers was written to let everyone know what is it like to be in high school and have these crazy emotions inside: falling in and out od love, obsession and the uncertainty of the future. Dealing with many subjects, John Green takes us to an amazing city where Quentin, Margo and their friends tell us what it's like to be a senior in high school and everything (besides school) that comes with it. Paper Towns is centralized on Quentin “Q”, (a boy who has his life planned and he has the idea that he needs to follow certain steps to finally be happy.) and his great obsession with Margo, who somehow turns out to be the villain on the story. Being a teenager means to fall for people and their exterior and get to know the mind of that person. Friendships are one of the central topics discussed in this book. Quentin is very close to his friends Ben and Radar; they spent their whole day together at school and after it. And even join Q in his crazy quest to find Margo.
Quentin’s friends are the best, they’re there for him when he is okay and when he becomes obsessed with finding Margo, they help him find the clues and go to dangerous places, including a long road trip that ends up in disappointment. Paper Towns is a book I’d highly recommend not only to young adults but all age readers because the book can be relatable because of the topics it deals with; most of us went through similar situations at some point in our adolescent years and this books kindly explains what it’s like to be in love with a person you don’t even know to then realize that your perception of them is all wrong.
