Mara Salvatrucha, better known as MS-13 is a very dangerous gang. "There are MS-13 members in at least 42 states ... the gang has strongholds in the U.S., Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, as well as a significant presence in Spain, Nicaragua, and other Latin American countries" (Logan). The Mara Salvatrucha is a powerful and well known gang that has been around for centuries. “The main reason they are known to be the deadliest gang around is because their motto is to control, rape, and kill” (Mara Salvatrucha).
