The closes thing to a tragedy that has happened recently is the loss of the grocery store near my home. Unfortunately, this does not follow the traditional definition of tragedy. However, if you look up the word tragedy in Merriam Webster, you will see a definition: a very sad, unfortunate, or upsetting situation. To me the loss of the grocery store is an upsetting situation. I can no longer just go to the grocery store and pick up a few things that I need, now I have to plan a weeks worth of meals ahead of time. Parenthood is about four grown siblings that are juggling being parents themselves, relationships, careers and more as they cope with life’s ups and downs. The characteristics that Parenthood has that lead me to this conclusion are that, it’s about a middle class familys that deals with everyday problems that we all have. The show has characters that are recognizable and relatable. In other words the show is very realistic. the movie Gone With The Wind almost meets all the requirement of a melodrama. The movie is about a woman 's life during one of the most tumultuous periods in America 's history. From her young, innocent days on a feudalistic plantation to the war-torn streets of Atlanta; from her first love whom she has always desired as a husbands; from the utmost luxury to absolute starvation and poverty; from her innocence to her understanding and comprehension of life. The main characters Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler are exaggerated in very way they talk and act, ect. Suspense is used throughout the movie. like when we see bonnie Scarlett and Rhett’s daughter. Bonnie ridding her horse getting ready to jump against their wishes, because she is to young. When we see her about to jump ether she will make it or she falls off, instead she is thrown off her horse and dies. The suspense of either she would actually do it or not, not to mention the music during the action scene helped with the suspense. The movie is seen through the main character Scarlett O’Hara point of view as the privileged upper class southern belle. I don’t believe that there are villains in the movie.
