Have you ever thought why cochlear implants are a controversial issue? Some people tend to say that the cochlear implant is a great idea to give the child a chance in the future while others (a.k.a the deaf world) say that the cochlear implant will only make the child to not be interested in the deaf culture. Well to begin with, a cochlear implant is mainly an electronic device which replaces the function of the damaged inner ear. Unlike hearing aids, cochlear implants are planted inside your head to actually send sound signals to the brain through the device. Good morning Sarah, SPSY 510 (psy of exceptional children) goes into the 13 categories of disabilities in which students may be placed for special education. It's a lot of work, but it is a 8 week class. We meet Tuesdays from 5pm to 10pm. For the most part, two students present a chapter (yesterday I had a presentation on speech and language impairment and another lady talked about autism).
Few people have ever thought of food as more than just a source of energy, a fount of nutrients, or a delight to our taste buds. The only parts of our body involved in the work of eating are our mouth and digestive system-or so we think. But that’s only a fraction of the whole picture. The book The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan reveals the evolution, science, and thinking behind the simple action of eating. In this book, Pollan argues that a long time ago, humans were able to solve the dilemma they had about what to eat, but now, at a time when we think we’re so much more advanced, this dilemma has not only been made harder, but we’ve become even less healthy, and forgotten the point of eating, especially in America.
The sole purpose of government, according to John Locke, was to support all citizens and their natural rights as well as protect and defend them at all times. As long as citizens were given their natural rights and equal treatment they were capable of civilly governing themselves. John Locke advised that a country’s government is in a binding social contract with its people; for the transfer of some rights to the government the people will in turn receive protection of their rights and pursuit of liberty and happiness. If ever violated this contract their own citizens would rebel against them. This dissolution can be a result of change in government, due to the violation of the citizen’s liberty.

I have chosen to do my informative speech on the impact of Electric Cars on the automotive industry, the environment, the economy, and society today. Electric cars have formed a large scale impact on the automotive industry itself, providing a lot more options for people looking for a car. The environment is helped by these cars because there are less emissions produced by these cars as opposed to traditional gas. The economy has changed as a result of this because the cars do not require gasoline fill ups to run, but electric bills will rise as a result of charging.
There’s not much scientific evidence that organic food is safer than the traditional food, as conducting such studies is not that easy. Even then the studies done were not really in humans. The one difference though is in the antioxidants but doesn’t prove that human health improves due to more anti-oxidant properties in organic food. While organics have become more desirable by the consumers, but at the same time, it doesn’t hold more nutritional value as oppose to non-organic food. There is one difference in the making of organic food; that is, the chemicals etc.
