There were a lot of peaceful protests. Threre were people called the freedom riders, they would ride buses because they knew they weren’t supposed to but they were trying to prove a point. There were also people that sit at restaurants and they would get food thrown at them, They would get yelled at, and much more. None of them would fight, no matter what happened to them, They would not fight back because they did it peacefully. Women began standing up for themselves as well, they wanted gender equality. They even began burning bras to bring more attention to it. A couple women involed in that were Betty Friedman and Gloria Steinam. Finally, in the nine-teen twenties, women officially got to vote just like men. That, I think made a huge impact
