There are around hundreds of Americans that fight for our country every year. These are the people that risk their lives to give all Americans the freedoms and rights that some other countries can only dream about. When they leave to defend the USA they are leaving their family and friends, not knowing if they will come home. However, it’s not just soldiers that defend the country and risk their lives. The police, firefighters, and even EMT’s have the risk of losing their lives when called to duty.
They should be thanked for their service no matter their part. They are what shaped the new age of war and what defines are American values today. And that’s all I have to say about
Why We Honor Our Veterans Do you know someone who is a veteran, perhaps a family member or a friend? Do you know what they had to go through? How they risked their lives for you and our country. Well today I am going to tell you what they had to go throw, what they sacrificed, and why they served.
Having a good understanding of this will brighten your mind on how much they devote their lives to this. When anyone chooses to go into the military, they will spend many months away from their family and loved ones. These vets defend everyone no matter what race, gender, age, or religion and they show that by giving us back the freedom that they fought for. To
The exact definition of a veteran is a person who has had long service or experience in a particular occupation or field, for example a person who has served or is serving in the armed forces. Today, there are 21.8 million veterans in the United States, who dedicated years of hard work and commitment to our country. There are many different ways that someone could have been involved in fighting for our country. There are five different branches of the military.
I have a few people in my family that are veterans. Their service means alot to me. I admire them for their for their bravery and loyalty to their country. They inspire me in many ways such as to be brave even if the situation requires only a small act of bravery, and to speak out against something I know is wrong. To me veterans need to be honored every day for their service.
Veterans and our soldiers are coming home from war or getting out of the military and when they get home they can’t afford rent or they have a mental disease from war. Homeless veterans tend to experience homelessness longer than non-veteran homeless. This should not be happening to our soldiers. This is very undesirable for our troops to come home and becoming homeless. They fight for our freedom and our rights and we repay them by becoming homeless.
Moreover, our countrymen had a choice to become anything they wanted, but they chose to defend our great country and freedom we so graciously enjoy. Now is not the time to dismiss such bravery not to mention commitment. The people of the United States need to stand by our soldiers
Secondly, sometimes in the military, women will be sexually assaulted which can lead to mental illnesses and cause them to be homeless when they come back home from the military. Lastly, many times veterans will have children that they have to come back to after their time in the military and if the parents get injured, that can affect the children significantly. Many times, a lot of veterans will be injured while they are in the military. First of all, a lot of times veterans will come back from the military and they will have mental disabilities such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety and if they experience something truly traumatic, those disabilities can be crippling.
The US has grappled with many questions about society’s obligations as to whether or not to offer services and benefits to the men and women in the armed forces. Supporters argue that helping veterans will help the society as whole and opponents argue that we shouldn’t be increasing our federal government spending in repaying veterans. Although I do see where people can argue that we are spending too much money on helping veterans after war, I believe that the government owes them for what they have done for the country, despite the cost. The government owes certain benefits to veterans because the men and women in the armed forces deserve to be welcomed home with a generous system of services for what they have done for the country. Helping veterans goes way back all the way to the 1600s.
In the United States, serving in the military is seen as a model of true patriotism, and rightfully so. Service members train for 10 weeks in their transition from civilian to a soldier. They train to be able to endure all the hardships that may come their way. Service members have to be in the best physical shape to serve and because of all that they do, they are thought of as brave and selfless people. Service members make extreme sacrifices to defend our country and act selflessly by doing so; it is fitting that they are seen as heroes by many Americans.
The reason is because perhaps they have not experienced war. They have not had the experience most soldiers have. They haven’t had to shoot someone,
These brave men and women are who keep this country going and carry one of the biggest responsibilities to America, serving in the military. So, it is easy enough for us to respect and honor them in every way possible. My right to America is to be respectful of my peers and elders as well as showing extra respect to those who serve and have served. Growing up in an amazing country like the United States makes many of us proud, and want to do whatever we can to give back. Many of the responsibilities asked of us are not that hard and can only take a few minutes or a simple smile to a stranger.
From the moment I was born I was considered a military brat, I was born in Hawaii at tripler hospital because my mom was in the army and stationed there, my biological father was in the marines. When my mom remarried when I was 7, she married a man who was in the Navy. Everyone thinks being a Military brat just means you know more than other people because you 've been more places and seen more things and you get a lot of stuff you want. This is not true at all. Coming from a military background means you never have stability, you are held to a higher standard than all the other kids, and sometimes it makes you want to be in the military and only focus on that.
I just want to thank our veterans for everything that they have done. In this essay I am going to write about what I am grateful for, how hard it is to be away from your family, the sacrifices that I think they have made, what they are doing for our country, and some facts. I think this will be a good topic for me because my great grandpa fought in World War 2. I will never forget him. So I hope you like it
