Introduction Performing assessments in the social work career is a pivotal tool used by all professional social workers. This tool enables the social worker to identify the strengths, weaknesses, resources that are hidden that the client possess, and the services available within the community. Additionally, this tool can be used to set smart goals for the client. Resulting in the social worker, and client achieving a holistic or ecological understanding of different relationships. Thus, explaining the social and personal relationships within the environment as support systems. I practice Baptist. However, I believe God is more interested in the persons heart and to be worshiped in spirit and in truth. Additionally, my religious beliefs and affiliations have influenced my values, and taught me what I believe as truth today, which my decisions are based upon bible scriptures. As a child growing up, I was taught to respect the bible and follow the principles outlined and I will be successful in every aspect of my life. Family What constitutes a family varies per person, cultural, and one’s environment. However, according to Hutchison, (2017) uses the Baxter and Braithwaite (2006) definition of a family: “Family is a social group of two or more persons, characterized by ongoing interdependence with long-term commitments that stem from blood, law, or affection” (pg. 194). However, I like to use the definition, “A group of people who have intimate social relationships and have a history together” (Hutchison, 2017). I do not have any family members. Therefore, I cannot describe a systems’ model to illustrate of my family in chapter 7. As a child I was taught to socialize with people who are considered high class or middle class. My parents wanted the best for their children. Thus, I was not allowed to associate with any children that did not have the social status of high class or middle
