The most important factors that allowed the Persian empire to become great are their economy and their military. Document Three talks about how Persia built elaborate imperial centers, using art and architecture to demonstrate power. The building of imperial centers helped strengthen the empire by being central hubs. They allowed Persia to control the far reaches of their Empire. Military, Trading routes, and Communications were all aided by the imperial centers. To other surrounding countries and visitors, these centers loomed over them, displaying power, and making them seem more imposing. By improving the already strong Persian military, he places the empire at a higher place than surrounding civilizations, A strong army means having less worry about attacks, allowing the empire to focus on other things such as education and economy. It also presents a threat to other countries and empires and sets Persia on higher ground. Document 5 explains that a branch of the Persian military, the spies, would survey Satraps and other surrounding civilizations, to insure that they didn't form alliances with other groups and become powerful enough to defeat the empire. It is important to know where your opponents stand at all times, which is why having people keeping watch on the Satraps brings a big advantage to Persia. This helps prevent the Satraps from plotting against them, giving Persia leverage.. As Persia had internal spies it helped them understand what other countries were scheming, and allowed them to ready their military to prepare for what they knew was coming. Having a strong military and spies essentially gave Persia ultimate power over everyone else, because they were aware of everything, so could train for any attack, and therefore could not be taken down. Persia was a powerful empire that was able to use all of its resources to become undefeatable. They used their wealth to create intimidating architecture that displayed their power over everyone else, and they had a strong military system prepped and ready for anything that came their
