The Dominican Republic, my birthplace. To the age of three my, family lived in the Dominican Republic until we moved to the New York City. Coming to New York City was a big change. My family had housing problems, my mother and father worked minimum wage jobs and barely scraping in any money. As a child, I was raised, to be honest, generous to those who need, and respectful to others. My life is filled with aspirations to do the best in life. In my opinion, I value family due to fact that they are always there for you. Even in tough times, my family is always there. Without my family, I wouldn’t be where I’m at. I want a job that I enjoy and not be miserable all day. My dreams are to one day become a politician and have a beautiful family. To achieve happiness you need a source of happiness and that source is creating a family and having a job I love. I desire a life that is stress-free, anxiety free, and full of happiness, but this isn’t very realistic because life will always be filled with stress, anxiety, and depression even if you have all the money in the world. My greatest struggles in life have been procrastinating. I would say my procrastination has decreased over the years, but is really bad at the end of the school year. I deal with procrastination by thinking about delayed gratification, but at time procrastinating just gets ahead of me and I don’t get done what I need to do. I would say I haven’t found the trick to stop procrastinating. A difficulty that I have is saying without thinking. The mouth of mine has gotten me in a lot of trouble over the years.
