I always thought basketball would be something that I will do my personal project on because I know more about it and it'll be easier to do. At an early age I was introduced to my older cousins, uncles, and aunties. I rekindled that my project had to be something new and something that I wasn't adjusted to. I then decided I wanted to challenge myself to a new sport and improve with that. I choose golf due to it being completely different from basketball. I went from a fast pace and swift thinking game of basketball , to golf, a slow paced and precise thinking sport. Both sports take extreme amounts of coordination, analysts and thinking. The first 3 days were good but the fourth day was troublesome because I had to combat this with my other classes. I did not want to do any work on the weekends because after a long and tiresome week, I viewed the weekend as a hiatus or period when the chaos and rapidness would stop. Until this semester, I found that there are alot of things that I vowed not to do, like staying up past 10:30, eating past 9:00, and working on my break. I have now realized that doing work on the weekends allows you to have more time for a specific thing without school taking the majority of your day. Allowing myself to be welcome to change and telling myself it is temporary has helped me accept the changes because they are only short lived. Reflecting and changing my cognitive thinking allowed me to adapt and change, with the mindset that it is due earlier that it is leading the brain in a misconception to push my brain to finish well before due time. I went through many retrieval strategies to make me personally not only feel obligated yet a necessity to get what I need done. I even have some people who have already finished with the class give me strategies to become focused and stay on task. They told me to always stay on top of it and have integrity. If you are saying you are going to do something then do it. Many people have fallen off the wagon on that aspect most including the journaling portion. Nevertheless, now that I am past that aspect and part of the project and at the final stretch, I'm feeling more optimistic. I am feeling more and more confident about the closing of my project now that the majority of it is done to my perfection. Setting smaller goals to reach higher and more important goals is key to having a very successful mindset making you able to feel accomplished because most goals are able to be achieved in one day at the least.
