Personal Essay: The Four Elements Of My American Dream

There are four elements of my “American Dream,” which are very important to me. They are: good education, family, have the freedom to pursue whatever I want and be able travel the world to help the less fortunate. I need to obtain my master or even my Ph.D. at a good school so I can get a job. With my Ph.D. I will have the knowledge to help cure people or give it my all to try to help. Another important element is family. Without my I wouldn’t be anywhere. My family wish me the best in life and never let me give up in something I truly believe in. They love and support me in everything I do and believe. Having the freedom to pursue what I want plays a big part in my life. I consider myself to be smart, determined and honest but I am also shy, a big time procrastinator and have a huge phobia of speaking in public. My strengths will allow me to be much better at my job in the future. In order to be a doctor, you to have the brains and be determined because it takes a lot of hard work to achieve a Ph.D. Honesty also helps in this field, whether it be something as harsh as telling patients they have a serious illness or something as simple as telling them to lose a little weight. As a doctor, you need to be honest at all times for your own sake and you patient’s. My weaknesses, however, bring me at disadvantage. In order to be in the medical field, you cannot be shy and hate public speaking. You need to be able to communicate with your patients. You also can’t do everything last because that will cause a lot of problems for a lot of people. In order to overcome these weaknesses, I need to put my myself in situations which are not in my comfort zone. I also need to get good at doing my work at the right time, instead of waiting last minute to try to finish
