It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
Hello again, I am so sorry I’ve emailed you so many times but I would really really like to meet one on one with Gerardo. My initial meeting that was scheduled for February 14th, I had to cancel due to being very sick and not wanting to spread it to him or his family. Are there any open slots? God bless, Rachal Adent
I have been doing some thinking about our conversation a few days ago and have concluded that I will take you up on the offer! I just sold my old bike and now have some money left over that I can use to pay for those seminars. I am going to see how soon I can get this done, I am going to look at the dates and send my form in. I will keep you posted on the status of things as they get processed.
It's hard to stay optimistic in a Challenge, sometimes you want to give up and quit. But in the end you have to stay with it. Whether it be getting a new job, starting college, learning to drive, working in a group you don't want to be in ,and even playing a new instrument. You have to try your hardest to stay together and keep going for your friends, family, and for yourself. One of the hardest challenges for me was switching instruments the end of the eighth grade year for the marching band that next fall.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
I tend to either think about the past too much, or I think about the future. I learned from Morrie, if you accept the end, you will accept everything you receive. Morrie, was someone who was very good with words, who once said, “Devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning” (p. 127) In life, you
“ I know it seems hard sometimes but remember one thing. Through every dark night, theres a bright day after that, So no matter how hard it gets, stick your chest out keep your head up and handle it” Words of Tupac Shakur. I’m 19 years old and my life has been a roller coaster. Ive had some good times but mostly bad times. Im at a point in life where I want to start fresh and better my life..
On November 6th, I encountered a cultural disconnect with a friend. My friend is a white, female, and the same age as me. This disconnect happened on the Berkeley campus when we were walking to our next class. We were both walking and talking about what we have been up to that past week. I told her that I was swamped with midterms and projects coming up so I was “studying and dying all week.”
At the beginning of my sophomore year, August 2015, I fractured my left ankle. My second season of cross country had just begun. The whole team had a Saturday practice at Atlanta Memorial Park. We came to this park for a time trial. Not being able to run was going to be a challenge for me.
Don’t stay in the same place you started, Now most of us don't know every single comfort zone we have the boundaries that hold us from moving forward. We need to conquer our fears and not let them get into our minds. Fears has a much bigger way of making itself bigger in our minds, but we need to refuse fear letting control of us, over our lives. We can not allow fear take the decisions for us, we should be the ones who take them. Once we conquer fear we will be successful and move
I walked into Organic Chemistry, laughing with my friend about an article we had read on how to levitate a frog with a magnet. We were hysterical just imagining what must have triggered an internationally respected scientist to turn the other and say “Dude, I bet we can’t levitate this frog with a magnet!” As team leader for our balancing equations group, “The Balancenators”, I asked the team to take our seats at the lab tables and remembered that we had a substitute from Ohlone College coming in to give us a lecture. He was a tiny, British guy with rolled up sleeves, and a strange obsession with stroking his beard, almost like a younger, shorter Gandalf.
I anticipated senior year to pass by smoothly. Unfortunately during wrestling practice, I positioned my footing wrong and broke the fibula of my ankle. After a surgical operation on my ankle, I was brought home. I laid there on my bed, bored of watching Supernatural; therefore, I decided to pick up the laptop and surf the web. The reason that I was brought to a site about writing was unclear, but I was interested in honing my writing techniques.
Four years ago, I was an “angsty” teenager who loved edgy and emo music, and I am currently the same, but other traits outweigh those traits. The different phases of my life defined my thinking process at that time and I am scared to find out what I will be like in a year or so because a few of my current traits are merely temporary. Petrified yet adrenalized, I am ready to fully embrace the future while I encompass the good and bad aspects of
you will see this fear diminish right in front of your eyes. The obstacles you had once seen to be your downfall will now become your greatest assets. Once you begin to overcome these obstacles, slowly you will realize your true potential and you will think "Wow, what else am I capable of? What else can I do that I never realized I could?" Understanding that every last one of us is given a very short period of time on this earth is crucial.
Instead just facing your fear, you meet it and live it. Eleanor Roosevelt once said “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face”(Living With Courage, TedXBend) This quote, explains how life will give
