What started as a thrilling new adventure for American trapper and hunter Sanger Rainsford quickly became a nightmare. On Friday April 15th, 2016, Rainsford traveled to Ship-Trap Island, a small spit of land off the coast of the Caribbean, along with family friend Whitney Johnson with the intention of mounting a hunting expedition in the Amazon. After going up onto the afterdeck and hearing a gunshot, he ran to the railing to see what was all the commotion. He had climbed onto the railing to get a better view and quickly lost his balance, subsequently being thrown into the bitterly cold waters.
At first, I followed the edge of our property line until I came to a little trail in the weeds that looked like it been made by a deer or another good-sized animal. It descended gently down the escarpment at first, but then I had to quicken my step as it became a little steeper, eventually taking me right down to the Genesee River. The river itself wasn’t as wide and as deep as I thought it would have been, and in spots it looked like you could cross without needing the aid of a bridge, the water perhaps coming up as high as my waist. But that was most likely because it was August and the heat wave we’d been experiencing had the area gripped in a drought. I had followed the river’s rocky shoreline for a little ways while listening
When I Went To Florida I went to Florida after 4th grade in the summer. When we went to Florida, Jaxon my sisters, brother came with us. The night before we left he stayed at my house. When we left the next morning we left at 3:00 A.M. While we were on our way we both had to sit in the very back of the car because my sisters came with us. The ride there was not fun at all.
I was born in New Orleans, but raised in Brooklyn. For several reasons my parents decided to leave NOLA shorty after my birth. From then on, I was raised in New York state; more specifically Brooklyn. It wasn't until the age of sixteen that I finally returned to my home city. My parents had just divorced and for that reason, my mother no longer wished to stay in New York.
Time. 10:19 p.m. South Florida. The traffic light rests at red for an eternity, mocking me with its condescending gaze. I quickly turned my head both directions, not a car in sight for what it seemed to be miles.
The first time I went to Mackinac Island was a truly unforgettable experience. Lots of people have always told me “We can’t go, we can’t fit the wheelchair on the boat.” But during last summer in August we decided to go Mackinaw City instead. I was super excited for it, I don’t why I had been to the city parts a thousand times over. That and I was sick as a dog with an unexplainable cold but that didn’t stop mom from saying “okay we’re going.”
I never knew going to Miami would make me want to travel the world. Chirp, Chirp, Chirp as I look up to watch the black lovely birds past me. While I am running on the beach , I look up to see the sun cast its golden rays down upon the cloud turning them bright, fired red. It is 6:30am in beautiful Miami, and I notice the splashing waves, breeze and seagulls. The beach is a place where people come to enjoy the ocean view and relax in the sand.
There was an incident in Pensacola Downtown that I was working on a school project for my Photo I class. I have taken a picture of a man who was wearing a zombie costume. When I developed the picture the next day at school, the man came out as a ghost. The picture showed that you can see things through the man. The most important thing about the picture that the people in the front line was visible and the people in the back vanished.
Waking up in a beautiful ocean front hotel room with the sun shining through is my idea of wonderland. Opening the balcony and automatically smelling the salty ocean is one of the many amazing parts. Wonderland has beautiful beaches, wonderful food, and unforgettable memories. The sound of waves crashing on the shore fills the air.
During the summer of 2014, my family and I were going on a vacation to Aruba. Aruba is a small island that is located in the Caribbean Sea. Someone who lives on the island told me that it was so small that someone there told me I could ride my bike all the way around the island. When we arrived to Aruba, after a five hour airplane ride, my butt was so numb it hurt to walk. We went outside the airport to rent a large vehicle, and the moment we stepped outside, we were already sweating.
The Punta Cana Trip In the morning I wake up around 4:00AM with the biggest excitement ever. I eat pizza because that's the first thing I saw. Then I check if I have everything I need. My grandpa drives to our house and drives us to the airport. When we arive there We all say our goodbyes to our grandpa “ Bye Grandpa ” When we walk in Everywhere long lines!!
Coming to Miami I can still remember that gloomy sky on October 21st 2001. It seemed like a normal day to me, yet that day would change my life forever. I remember my mother rushing around the house trying to gather my brother’s clothes while I just sat on the floor observing so much commotion around me. For an 8 year old, I was a very hipper child. I ran around the house, climbed trees, sat on the roof top which was 3 floors high.
I thought to myself. Wow. In just a few hours, I was going to be in a totally different country. My last day in the United States was on a warm day in July of last year. I would be using an airport in Washington D.C. to make my journey to Panama.
My Trip to Florida It was a cold winter night in Upstate New York. My mom and dad were enjoying a cup of coffee, my sisters were playing video games, and I was editing a few pictures on my computer. My mom brought up the idea of a vacation. She said” We haven’t been on a vacation for a long time”.
When dinner came to a close, we all headed down to the beach of the resort for a classic s'mores bonfire. I could taste the melted marshmallow that was slightly roasted over the fire to a warm brown ooze in between each graham cracker making the chocolate melt in my mouth. I felt the sand sink between my toes every step I took. We all had a great night together. Especially when we bring up sports.
