Today's featured article "A Streetcar Named Marge" is the second episode of The Simpsons' fourth season. It first aired on the Fox network in the United States on October 1, 1992. In the episode, Marge wins the role of Blanche DuBois in a musical version of Tennessee Williams' play A Streetcar Named Desire. Homer offers little support for his wife's acting pursuits, and Marge begins to see parallels between him and Stanley Kowalski, the play's boorish lead male character. The episode contains a subplot in which Maggie attempts to retrieve her pacifier from a strict daycare owner.
Youth can be compared to open land. It is free, open, and full of opportunities as far as the eye can see, but as life moves forward, space in the land becomes sparse and limited, eventually paving the way toward adulthood where your land is taken up and your life will be shapen by it. Being an adult can be difficult which leads many individuals to perform certain actions to remind them of their past, but to what extent should an individual seek to reconnect with their past? The play A Streetcar Named Desire written by Tennessee Williams, develops Blanche DuBois as an old soul who keeps her best effort to stay young as long as possible. After moving away from Laurel, Blanche attempts to make amends with her past by keeping herself out of the
As with any story it is only fair to mention the rough times. Then when you read about the laughable times, it is worth it. There are a few incidents that I would like to mention in this book. Only because it might assist people in avoiding the ‘first time’ mistakes of owning this type of dog. Tailgate was built short and stout.
As we sat there with our parents behind us and brother in front, I started reading the warnings in the car. Don’t stand up at all times, keep all body parts in the car at all times, I thought. All of a sudden the man over the loudspeaker came on. “Please keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times. And please enjoy the ride!”
I was traveling west on Route 254. I slowed down to almost a complete stop as another vehicle in front of me was turning into their driveway. I heard squealing tires, I saw Vehicle 2(Pontiac) swerve to the right just before it struck my vehicle. Vehicle 3 (Red) did not make any contact with vehicle 2 and struck my vehicle in addition the driver of vehicle 3 fled the scene without exchanging information.
I was in 4th grade going to 5th grade I was a big kid now. I could do whatever dad could do. If he could ride a four wheeler in the forest I could to. My Dad gave the ok to this idea, and my Mom, well she finally went along with a nervous look on her face.
The book I got from my grandpa When I was like 7 my grandpa brought a book to me from his trip to detroit. It was a book about cars. It was like my favorite book for a long time because I liked cars a lot when I was growing up. The book was about a bunch of different chevrolet cars and who made them and designed them and stuff like that. Thats why I was so interested in the book.
He stole the wrong grandma’s golf cart. The leaves were just starting to fall when I got the phone call. “Alma’s golf cart was stolen.” I felt my heart speed up at the thought of my poor grandmother sitting at home alone with a thief right outside her door. My palms started sweating as my mother started describing the events.
Thank to one of the woman around road we’re lost, she show us where to go. We finally came back to the trial, and continue the journey. The weather is better, no more rain, but sunny and warm. I change the food portion into filling, for family gain better health. And ride on the normal pace for better safety.
You are absolutely correct in your statement “Personally I use availability heuristic everyday from what route to take to and from work or what to wear to work.” (Rhodes, 2016). I notice the same activity on yesterday. Since my arm has been broken; my son has been helping me get dressed for work. On Monday he fastened my necklace as usual however, before leaving I noticed it was too loose.
Val 's POV Today my two year old daughter, Alexandra, or as I call her Ali, is starting her first dance class. " Ali-gator," I said,"it 's time to get ready." "Otay papa," she replied in her little kid voice. I changed her into a black leotard that said "be {you} tiful" on it with a matching black tutu. I pulled her brown hair up into a ponytail and slid in a matching pink bow.
Tennessee Williams wrote “A Streetcar Named Desire” (Williams, 1947) It is based in New Orleans a new cosmopolitan city which is poor but has raffish charm. The past is representing old south in America 1900’s and present is representing new America post world war 2 in 1940’s. Past and present are intertwined throughout the play in the characters Stanley, Blanche, Stella and mitch. Gender roles show that males are the dominant and rule the house which Stanley is prime example as he brings home food and we learn of one time when he got cross and he smashed the light bulbs.
and I totally forgot that I was about to risk both of our lives and drive for the first time. Mr. Thelen, I soon learned was his name, was probably as nice as they come. He was somewhat boisterous and could probably talk to anyone. I found out he’s a teacher at the junior high school, and taught social studies. He began to quiz me on all things car and driving related.
December 1, 1955 seemed like any other day to me. I woke up, got ready, and went to work. I never thought that any aspect of my life would have an impact on so many people in the extraordinary way it did. As I grew up, I started to notice the drastic amounts of inequality and segregation in our supposed to be 'free' nation. I knew that a change needed to be made, and we needed equal treatment and rights for everyone.
