“Morning,” my mom says to me as I fill up a cup of orange juice and walked to the outside door leading out on the porch of our family’s Cape Cod home. “We are leaving for the Maple’s at ten-thirty, make sure you are ready. Your dad already packed the towels and goggles, just make sure you remember a change of clothes. Oh, and can you take Fabia outside with you?” My mom asked. Fabia is our family dog. “Okay, I will.” I responded as I walked through the screen door out to our porch. The fresh ocean breeze felt cool as it brushed my face. “Where’s Meghan?” I asked my mom. “Your sister is watching TV,” My mom answered. “Do you have everything ready for the Maple’s house?”

After about a half hour we arrived at their grandparents house right by the beach. We unloaded the beach gear into a beach cart. Our friends were already at the beach, so we walked down the street and met them.
My sister and I’s friends (Kristan, Kelly, and Joseph) were waiting for us at the entrance to the beach and brought us over to where they set up their chairs and blankets. After exchanges of hugs and “look how old you are” and “you are growing up too fast” we layered on sun block and began wading into the water. The warm sun beating down on us making the water feel refreshing. The water was clear and we could see the colorful fish swimming around us, looking like rainbows.
After a while in the water we were all turning wrinkly, so we decided to go up to the beach and dry off. There was a creek about a five minute walk away so we decide to go there. Once at the creek we used nets and buckets to attempt to catch sea creatures. Everyone was able to catch at least two decent sized crabs and little fish. We were gone for a while so our parents came over and told us it was time to go back to the Maple’s to eat dinner. We walked back over to our family’s spot on the beach. We were hanging out on their swing set and I was standing up on the swing swinging back and forth when my foot slipped and I fell off the swing. I tried my best to stop my fall by putting my hand out in front of my to brace my fall but it did not work. I ended up landing really hard on my right wrist and elbow.
