Boom! As soon as I let that ball go, I knew instantly it was a kill. The libero, the best passer on the team, just watched that ball drop right in front of her. The whole team was shocked that an 12 year old could hit that hard. It was the big Southeast Qualifier tournament, the biggest and the last tournament of the season, so I had to end it on a good note. This is when I realized I would continue my volleyball career in high school. Following that, I played an additional two years of club volleyball. When I made JV as a captain and starting player my freshman year, I was proud of myself. Throughout club seasons, I learned alot and thought about what all my coaches had ever told me, took it in, and played my best all season. I learned so much during the three years of club I played like all the basics of volleyball and more advanced skills. After that season, I knew volleyball was a keeper. Volleyball is the kind of sport for me because I can hit. I love hitting because I can take out all my stress into the ball and hit it hard. These were the most important thing I learned in playing volleyball. Hitting is so important to volleyball because it is what scores most of the points in the game. Hitting usually happens on the third contact of the volleyball. The hit ideally takes place after a pass, then a set. Hitting is such an exhilarating skill in the sport not only for the player, but also for the fans watching. It takes coordination and focus.
