Personal Narrative Essay: Joe's Life

Once upon a time, there was a kid named Joe who lived in this city called Compton. Compton was a tough place to live in. There’s a lot of violence and crime in that city. People often get robbed or get killed in Compton. The only way people make it out from that city is by selling drugs to make money, but Joe was different. He didn't want to kill anyone or sell drugs to make money. He didn't see as that the right way to make a living. The only thing that Joe had passion about or wanted to do was rap. He wanted to be a rapper and talk about people’s struggle in Compton and give hope to anyone who goes through the same situations. Joe never cared about money, cars or the fame. He just wanted to help the people.

Joe lived in small house with his mom and his dad. His family was poor. They were living in rough conditions. Sometimes they would have no money to pay the bills and sometimes they would have no food on the table, so Joe had to help and support his family. They would tell him to go to the clubs and party all the time. They would just spend all his money and wouldn't let him write new music to help the people. When it was recording time, they would tell him not to and instead they would tell him to go out and party. Now Briefcase Joe had never done these things before. He never went out to party or go to clubs. So he didn’t see anything wrong in that. He quickly started to do all these things on his own and he was slowly getting away from his music. Joe would just spend his time partying and would take the time to write music. In a few months later, Joe was completely in the wrong direction. He was acting wild, driving recklessly, and even started doing drugs. Joe started to appear on news and was making headlines as “ The good kid gone bad”. He was being violent in the public and was facing
