It felt like a knife was stabbing me right in the leg. I noticed a considerable amount of other campers staring at me as I was laying on the ground in pain. “Ouch! Oh my gosh!” I held my leg as I yelled loudly.
The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe, Response Journal #4, pp. 160-309 Question: What emotions did the book invoke: tears, smiles, anger? Share and discuss these. When reading The Way We Fall, I felt a range of emotions.
I can relate to this because when I was 10 years old, my little brother, Jake, and I were up in my uncle’s hay barn playing with kittens. I was so caught up adorable balls of fluff that I completely ignored Jake when he wandered off to go jump from hay bale to hay bale. He was screwing around on a tall pile that was stacked above the entrance in the floor. He slipped and plummeted 14 feet through the hole. He landed directly onto his head straight onto the cement below.
I started moving too fast, and I tripped, cut open my hand, and started bleeding. I figured I had better leave and visit it again, but the blood from my hands got on the wall. Everything got bright and then suddenly I was floating. I blacked out and woke up to a police officer staring at my and my parents happy I was safe. I had been gone for 12 hours with-out contact.
The old ford lurched off the road and climbed a hill adjacent to the road, only to roll back down and land roof first into the icy terrain. As I was hanging upside down, dangling by my seatbelt, I could feel blood dripping onto my face. I remember the buzzing in my head, my mom screaming my name, but I couldn’t reply. Everything was in slow motion. The firefighters shining light into my eyes, the ambulance sirens blaring, my dad rushing to us after hearing the news.
Two where my friends, they were scared The other two were my mom and brother We were visiting my dad . because he was on his break. And we were talking
The sensation of falling was like being in the middle of an earthquake, I was vibrating everywhere. When I hit the water it was similar to the feeling of being submerged in ice cubes. When my head broke the surface of the frigid water, the air smells like the fresh scent of pine. No matter what happens, I will never forget cliff jumping in the Arkansas
I felt a sharp pain from my chest and I collapsed on the ground and I lost consciousness again. I woke strapped to a table this time with people looking down on me I reached for the knife in my jacket and cut the straps on the table and dropped the knife as I ran down the stairs and stopped at the door. It was beginning to open and I hid the people walked by with Dr.Zygon and I was about to reach out
I felt as if I was going to have a heart attack, the pain was excruciating. I’ve never felt anything like that nor do I wish to ever feel that way again, when I found my beloved dog laying dead on my bed. The beginning Dozer passed away on Sept. 29, 2015. I was blessed to have him for 15 years, adopting him from the Animal Human Society in New Jersey.
Senior Fall Pathways Portfolio High school my year of success, potential and goals. For the past four years of high school, they have not been what I expected because I expected something more challenging and difficult to graduate. I also expected to experience things such as involvement in school activities. To not be categorized as your level of our understanding because that meant the high level students couldn’t really have a connection with the low improvement students. For example I’m not that high of a performing student
I slipped on the floor. My head went BANG! My body fell to the hard floor. The jagged floor smashed onto my face. Good thing I was wearing very strong glasses.
After the juxtaposing social upheaval of the preceeding eras, the Elizabethan Era (1558-1603), and part of the Jacobean Era (1603-1625) were relatively stable periods in time. In this 67 year timespan, a plethora of political reform took place. It was considered to be the "Golden Age" in English history as creative works in literature, poetry, and theatre began to flourish (C.S. Lewis, English Literature in the Sixteenth Century, page 1). This political reform helped in shaping what would come to be some of the most notable works in the history of literature, the works of William Shakespeare. First and foremost, it is important to understand the political ideals of William Shakespeare and how they go along with the time.
It was all a blur. Next thing I know I feel a sharp pain in my arm. I collapse and land head first. My breathing became hard and heavy. My eyes felt like they couldn’t stay up on their own.
My fall walk started on a bright, and sunny day. The birds were chirping and flying through the sky. The wind was blowing the red, yellow and orange leaves off the branches of the trees. Walking through the grass, I heard the sound of dry leaves crunching under my feet. My neighbors had different fall decorations in their yard.
I was never a fan of flying. It’s not that I’m afraid of heights or anything, it’s just the idea of flying. Launching up into the sky, by an airplane specifically, is quite scary, if you think about it. Just imagine every possible way something could go wrong. The plane could get stuck in a storm and crash.
