This is about a culture I was born into and raise by my parents.it is discipline culture made me who I am today being a Somalian American. It was easy at first, but my unique name ask people question like what are you so I just tell them I am Somali American. I was lucky I was born not there when the violence all that started to really happen. It’s getting better I visits there when I was young it was nice peaceful when I visited there. But the outsiders view us all most pirates, but that just little percentage of us and piracy really on the drop. Plus, I live in a city that borders Ethiopia a little city about 20000 people. Most of really are herders we heard camels and goats that is the most income way of life is other things too. The world seen us I guess starving pirate people but that is not the truth everywhere has poverty or what they seen in TV they think is real. We are taught at an earlier age about our culture, the language ancestors a lot of things. But then there is my American culture I have to embrace English what I belong. Growing up there wasn't a lot of Somalians where I lived so I hang out with the people around me it was African Americans. Most of my friends were and still are I grew up with them learn their culture also saw what they do. But I still had my culture try to blend both of it together and fit in. But the consequences of not fitting in is bad, your family won’t talk to you they will kind of like disown you. Talk mess to you until you come back in the culture once you are in there is very high exceptions. But the rewards are that anything happens toy money or in trouble the culture family will help you out raise money for you just to get out of the predicament. The advantages of being in the culture you know they got your back, but the faults are once you’re out you can’t come back
