Wake Tech has one of the best reputations for community college nursing programs in North Carolina. It is extremely competitive and harder to get into than other community college nursing programs. The reputation doesn't come without its faults, unfortunately. The classes are hard, as expected, but there is little help outside of class time for students. The professors for the most part are great but in every class there's "that one" who thinks because we're a community college, there's something to prove and makes it so much hard on students.
There are three primary reasons for choosing to apply to Washburn’s School of Nursing. First, I was looking for a highly accredited nursing school with a strong reputation for learning. Although it was difficult finding a lot of rankings information about Washburn’s School of Nursing, I was able to uncover some information from Best-Nursing-Colleges.com which ranks Washburn’s School of Nursing 78th in the Midwest and in the top three locally. Second, my family and me have many friends who have received degrees or currently obtaining degrees from Washburn University and have very positive things to say about the University, faculty and overall learning experience.
I stepped onto this campus with aspirations of being a Nurse one day, with dreams of nurturing those in need of my assistance whenever needed, in clinics and hospitals. Nevertheless, one semester later, I see myself studying abroad one day, representing our school in more than just medical settings, and hoping one day I can give back to this school, if it 's in scholarships, research, or knowledge, what they invested in a small Aggie

I have no complaints and it taught me a lot. Nursing is a very rewarding but difficult profession and in order to be successful, you have to be totally committed to it. “Although the bulk of us kept coming back every day, by the end of the first year many students had been dropped fro failure to achieve the standards set by the program, or they had resigned because they could’t stand the stress.” (Page 43). Echo Heron had to go through a lot in order to get to where she and nursing isn’t for everyone.
“These abilities are essential for today 's professional nurse who must be a skilled provider, designer, manager, and coordinator of care (AACN, 2010). My goal is to be the safest nurse I can be and deliver a high quality of care to all of my patients. I would want the same if I was the patient. I want to grow my career and achieve my nurse practioner degree. I chose UAB School of nursing to advance my education for the convenience of having all online classes and the campus being available if I need to access it.
My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.
By attending Winona State University, I will receive the training that I will need to become a nurse. My first step towards achieving my goal is by earning a Certified Nursing Assistant license. As a full-time student, I plan on working as a Certified Nursing Assistant until I receive my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. As a registered nurse, I will be a full-time student in Winona State University’s graduate program. After graduate school, I hope to be a Nurse Practitioner to help save people's lives.
I am currently an undergraduate at Rowan College at Gloucester County completing my pre-nursing studies. As I was growing up, I always enjoyed the idea of helping and healing others. My inspiration to become a nurse was watching my mother make a difference in the lives of elderly at a local senior living community as an Activities Assistant for years. Even though, she was unable to go back to school due to personal circumstances, the compassion she showed towards others around her was something special as she took care of them as if they were relatives. Whenever I had free time, I would just sit and play a game with the elderly residents hearing their life stories from when they were young.
I honestly did not know what to expect, I heard it would be the hardest thing I have ever done and I definitely believe that to be true. I have definitely felt defeated on multiple occasions and for the first time in my life actually cried about school. I am so thankful to have such great professors to encourage me when I did not do well on exams, give me feedback on study habits, and truly care about my future at Denver School of Nursing and as a nurse. My classmates for the most part are exceptional. They have been so positive, helpful, and I feel like we all learn from each other.
Include your current MSN program at the UABSON, and indicate your specialty track within the MSN program. Surprisingly, I am new graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. I know graduation was just three months ago, and I may be a little insane for taking on the tough role as a student again, but I didn’t choose my passion for nursing it chose me. Especially, my specialty track, which is mental health. Upon the completion of my mental health clinical, I knew this population was the exact for match for me.

Clinical Nursing I Orientation. Today since I woke up I was nervous, anxious and you could say that even scared, but as I learn from my last experience with Fundamental class this kind of emotion of being little scary is normal because nobody knows what the day can bring to us. Also I felt pride and joy because I am proud of where I’ve come so far as being an immigrant who came to this country as many others looking for their dream without knowing the language or even the culture. All my classmates and I were looking forward to meet our instructor because since we started the classes we felt somewhat lost by not having clearly defined our situation with classes and teachers.
College is stressful, yet worthwhile Before going to college, I have heard from people that freshman year of college is unchallenging. I am midway into completing my freshman year, and I believe, so far, college is tough. I would like to describe it as stressful yet worthwhile. During this letter, I will talk about the first mistake I have made as a freshman, ways I manage stress through a busy college schedule, and how my viewpoint of nursing has changed.
Today, I am glad I choose nursing because I have overcome my social fears, learn to be a team player, learn how to prioritize and most importantly learned to manage stress. Lastly, I grew as a nurse with each semester because I learned how to respect and treat each patient as a unique individual. I have also learned to put my patient safety as my priority and provide presence because I realized through my clinical experience that, sometimes that all the patients need. Below is the breakdown of how I have developed each semester in nursing school. FALL 2013 • Foundations of Nursing: NUR 2310
