Late 2005 I was assigned to 2-35 Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI. I re-enlisted into the Army after almost a three year break in service. On my previous enlistment, I served in the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment from the 82nd Airborne Division. All the new soldiers to include myself were standing in formation waiting on the Battalion Command Sergeant Major (CSM) to speak to us. I was the only Private First Class with a Combat Infantryman Badge, an Expert Infantryman Badge, and a combat deployment to Afghanistan.
Canadian airmen were among the first into action. Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) squadrons belonging to Bomber Command ’s No. 6 Group had already been involved for several months in bombing key enemy targets in the invasion area: roads, bridges, railways, airfields, and command and communications centers. As the moment to launch the invasion neared, Allied bombers dropped thousands of tons of explosives on German coastal defense’s, approximately 6,000 tons in just the last few hours before the invasion.
SGT. Barrett and I contacted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot that was parked in an unlit area at approximately 2300 hours. Once outside of our vehicle I started flanking toward the right side of the white Nissan Maxima, as the windows were darked out. SGT. Barrett went to the driver side of the vehicle, where the door was ajar, with a male sitting in the driver's seat with his feet planted on the ground I heard what sounded like a dense metal object fall onto the pavement from the driver's side of the vehicle.
In the fall of 1940, Gunther Prien, a commander of the German Navy, directed a U-Boat near the North of Mainland Ireland. “On the night of September 7 the convoy had reached a point about a hundred miles northeast of Malin Head. The weather was overcast, the wind force 5, the swell heavy, visibility was three miles and there was no moon.” (65) This vivid imagery perfectly captures the backdrop of the fighting and details the “calm before the storm”. Another example of this is when Hoyt was describing the same conflict near Ireland: “She moved to attack and when she was 400 yards from the contact a dark shape appeared and then disappeared in a swirl of foam at 300 yards off.”
It was droning, and you think, oh my gosh were going to be in for it” (Saunders) The first shots were fired above the coast of England, where the first Royal Air Force met the Germans robust air force. The formation of the German planes consisted of German bombers, the 191’s, escorted by German fighters, the 187’s, greeted by Spitfires. Both forces slowly deteriorated each other, but the Germans pushed on till their destination, London.
It was a dark and stormy night. Why we have to do this tonight, that is beyond me. Ask our squad deputy commander Joongsa Kim, equivalent to a Warrant Officer of my homeland, about the reason. I had my reason: It was stormy tonight, and to me, that was enough to feel like stepping out of the mission. As a member of the Joint Task Force 2, I was trained to withstand the dark, and so would have my American comrade Sergeant Hunter, who is from the well-known Delta Force, and the South Korean soldiers Warrant Officer Kim and Sangbyeong Jung, equivalent to a Corporal of the Canadian Armed Forces, who are from the 707th Special Operations Battalion.
I am a pioneer! My pioneer story isn’t your average Latter Day Saint pioneer story, as far as historical LDS stories go! I was raised by goodly parents, I was born and raised in Spokane Washington. I am the youngest of three children born to Jim and Shannon Newell. My brother James is the oldest and four years older than myself.
It was December 1st. My first day in the colonial army, it was horrible all i saw was snow and dead bodies the scene made me shake in the soles of my shoes. The estimated amount of people dead so far was about 1,800 to 2,500. It was absolutely freezing and i wanted to go home, i was confused and couldn’t think straight. Men were dropping like flies and the stench of death was all too real.
Imagine meeting a person that brought back memories of the worst time in life. Today I met a man named Derek. Derek had a very horrible attitude, so much so it reminded me of a leader that I used to work for a long time ago. In 2005 I was assigned to the United States Army Technical Escort Unit.
We head off to college. As Liam and I are heading to college we are talking about what we want to do when we get older. And Liam tells me that he wants to travel the world and make adventures. And I tell Liam that I want to also travel the world and become a writer. Music starts playing and we start jamming out to the music.
Have you ever missed A month a school and have to make it up the last couple weeks of school. I am in 9th Grade at Hartland High School with approximately 2,000 students. I used to go to St.Patrick School in Brighton, it is a Catholic school with only around 300 students from 1st to 9th grade. I played hockey since I was 3 and after I got my concussion from hockey I have taken a break. My friends and I like to play this game called Clash Royale and we play each other all the time and sometimes the better player looses and the weaker players win.

Well, today is the day. In a few minutes, I will be flying high into the sunset. Just thinking about this next adventure makes my internal organs sink into my chest. As I drag my massive, black and white polka-dot carry on across the long, blue carpet hall, my trembling hands start to get cold and clammy. My entire body was struggling to hold itself together.
Hi, I am the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) for troop 1598.I have been is scouts since I was six years old and I have learned so many things that you can’t learn in school or anywhere else. Things like how to tie knots, how to lead, how to cook, how to talk in front of people. And how to manage time and follow through with important components of running a troop. I am always asked by parents “what will my child gain from joining?”
The Power of Identity Despite varying circumstances, both visually and contextually, the theme portraying that extreme measures are often taken when others are not accepting of an identity is developed by actions in American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. In the beginning of the book, The Monkey King is more or less serene and collected. At first the book shows some scenes on pages 10 and 11, where he is training peaceful, simple disciplines, and as stated on page 10, “The monkey king ruled with a firm but gentle hand.”
