The career of a prenatal sonography technician can be very rewarding for those who decide to pursue it. Having a satisfaction of helping out a pregnant women through her journey. This may include performing ultrasounds to let the parents to be know what is the gender of the baby which for them is such an exciting
Checking into the hospital at 3:08 AM, only to wait another 12 hours on the nose to have this long awaited baby. The family started showing up, the nurses started preparing me, and at 2:40 PM, it was time. Finally, here I was, at 3:08PM on the dot, Alyssa Stongle was the newest mommy at the hospital. Right then and there, I knew why my body was going through changes.
Then, she drove me to the hospital and got me immediately to the ER. In the ER they were rapping me like crazy because i wouldn 't stay still in the bed because i was so scared and i was in pain. Finally they got me all wrapped up and I was laying in the bed quite. I don 't remember what happened after that because I guess I went into surgery and could think of what happened after that.
We went to the attendance office to pull him out of class and they said they couldn’t because they were outside and my Dad was starting to get mad because my Mom was about to give birth to my little brother any minute and my Dad could not miss it. We finally got him out of class and we flew to the hospital. When we got there we went straight to a room because my dad had to go to my mom because she was having a baby. While we were in the waiting room we watched T.V on a big flat screen T.V. We sat in there for about four hours waiting, it was like watching paint dry it was the longest time of my life. Justin and I were watching some Zeke and Luther and the doctor comes in and says “Do you want to see your baby brother”.
When my parents were at their first ultrasound at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, they discovered they were having triplets. Soon after, they bought a baby book started to think of names. My parents had strict criteria, as our names had to sound official. My parents wanted to give names that would not restrict us from holding an important position such as President. Every night, my mother scanned through this book, hoping to find a list of possible names.
Day two clinicals. This day went so much smoother. I had the same two patient as the day before and one got discharged and I got a new patient. I feel like my second day I had an amazing relationship with my one patient. I got her to eat a little more that day because I knew what to talk to her about.
But finally I had to embrace it because I kind of had to be at the wedding. Things get a little blurry and wild from here on but I remember a couple things. Sitting down watching my sister walk up the through the chairs in a beautiful sparkling white dress. My sister and that guy said many things up there, he even made up a cute poem for her.
One of the scariest days of my life was the day I brought my first child, Noah home. I can remember getting home and feeling like I had no idea what I was doing. I was exhausted, sore, and scared out of my mind. I remember everyone telling me you just know what to do when you become a mother, but here I was with this little person, and I felt completely lost. I wasn’t able to get breast feeding down, I could’t stop the crying, and I felt the saddest
Nursing has always been a passion of mine, especially labor and delivery nursing. While others in my class would cringe away from the birth video in my freshman health class, I watched in fascination, tearing up at how natural and joyous childbirth was. When I told my parents, they were hesitant when it came to their support. My mother thought it was a messy job that required too much liability insurance. Unfortunately for her I was headstrong and refused to listen.
First of all, I want you to know your Mom and I love you dearly and we could not be prouder of you. We are not perfect parents, but we have done our best to protect, raise and guide you make your way through those difficult growing-up years and prepare for the future. I hope you can forgive us for what we didn’t know. Your Mom and I were very nervous at the prospect of being first time parents. To keep your Mom calm, the doctor explained that giving birth was nothing to worry about; but, when the time came, they have to perform cesarean.
Later that morning, we arrived at Gordmans and paced through the store looking for bargains. I tried to shop, but was too distracted. Finding a chair, I sat and hoped my mom was doing okay. Finally my dad called and told Joy that my mom was rushed to the emergency room for a C-section. An overwhelming sense of panic ran through my body.
Under the knife I remember my very first surgery. It wasn’t major but to me, an 8-year-old child, the thought of having needles and knives and people all around me scared me awfully. When my mom first told me I’d have to have teeth removed I thought I was going to die.
I have a high pain tolerance, so it took all day for me to start feeling my contractions and I eventually needed an epidural. Thirty-six hours later I was fully dilated, and it was time to start pushing. The doctors gave me the option to watch myself give birth and I did so with my mom, my boyfriend, and his mom by my side at 3:35 PM my son was born and fully healthy thank god. My son is five and a half months old now. He is my motivation, a big reason why I’m getting my diploma.
Then 9 months later on February 16, 1999, at 3:10 am my precious son came out of my womb and placed on my chest. It was the most amazing experience ever, but also extremely exhausting thing ever! I was in the hospital for about another week till the doctor told me to go home, funny thing is that I got discharged on my birthday February 21, 1999, which I turned 16. At first, it felt like being a mother was easy, but in reality, it wasn 't because I also had to go to school plus he would always wake me up in the middle of the night, and be in an extreme of exhaustion. I started missing school more and more till I finally dropped out.
I can still remember like it was yesterday the day my son was born. The feelings leading up to the day he was born were the most nerve racking days of my life. On August 27th 2015 me and my wife sat at home expecting the our son any moment. My mother was also with us and was there to help us after the baby was born. As the day went by the house filed with boredom and the feeling of nervousness, and outside being gray and rainy I knew that it wasn 't a beach day.
