I am a twenty-three year old mother, full-time student and wife. I have come a long way since my high school years, from a period of inner conflict and lack of motivation to recently receiving an acceptance letter into a very competitive sonography program at the University of Texas School of Health Professions in Houston Texas. I have come to this program to start a career in the field I have always dreamed of being a part of, a dream that began when I was a child playing nurse. Although my interest in the medical field began with nursing, life has taken men through a path that lead me to sonography. Sonography caught my interest at sixteen when I needed a breast exam to diagnose whether I had breast cancer or not
Patient lifting, turning and assistance may also be required. As a sonographer there is endless opportunity for career advancement, expansion, or even change of career within the medical diagnostic field. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the projected outlook for employment of diagnostic medical sonographers is projected to grow 17 percent by 2026, which is above average for all occupations. The unemployment rate is 1.1% for this field (Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, 2018). People will never stop ageing, getting sick, and deteriorating which means these positions in health care will always be
What is The Future of Sonography? Sonography, also known as Medical ultrasound has constantly gained importance in the medical field since its invention over 30 years ago. Today, significant strides have been achieved in improving the efficiency and availability of ultrasound services so that radiologists can perform critical operations remotely preventing number of preventable deaths. The future looks promising with more advancement expected in terms of increasing the scope of procedures and also treatment capabilities.
When my parents were at their first ultrasound at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, they discovered they were having triplets. Soon after, they bought a baby book started to think of names. My parents had strict criteria, as our names had to sound official. My parents wanted to give names that would not restrict us from holding an important position such as President. Every night, my mother scanned through this book, hoping to find a list of possible names.
You also have to be certified by your state Board of nursing or receive national certification from an agency; you also have to have experiences with infants there also have a higher a (APRN). I always wanted to work with babies its exciting thing to do. You can learn a lot from working with babies and I want to learn how I can help babies and what do I have to do to save a baby. I also want to support the parents while they go through his process and let them know that we are here for them and to do our best to help their baby. I want to make a difference in this kind of
Radiology Specialist The Army provides a wide variety of jobs related to the healthcare field and a radiology specialist is one. A radiology specialist is a doctor that is trained specifically in using and understanding equipment and procedures related to X-rays, ultrasounds, CTs, and MRIs.
BODY PARAGRAPH #1 The job responsibilities of an OB/GYN can go as little as prescribing medication for their patient, and as big as performing surgery on their patient. “A gynecologist is also responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of the female reproduction system disorders and diseases. They may become involved in the general healthcare of women related to topics such as nutrition or diseases that affect only women” (How to become a gynecologist). The job responsibilities of an OB/GYN is the patient.
Prenatal/Perinatal Development James was born on September 23rd, 2005. He was a healthy young baby, born with no genetic defects and thankfully that stayed that way. OBGYN Ultrasound Technician How rewarding would it be to have the opportunity to get to experience a mother and father seeing their unborn child for the very first time? To get to be the person whom informs parents of the gender of their baby, which they have anxiously been waiting for. I don’t believe there could be a greater feeling in the world than being there and sharing that excitement that people anticipate about their entire lives. Getting to be a part of these moments is one of the main reasons why an OBGYN Ultrasound technician is my dream career. Personally, I love to make others happy and I love seeing others happy.
The client is Emma, a 5-year-old European American. Due to lack of evidence the writer is unable to identify if Emma’s mother received prenatal care, the writer assumes the mother did receive prenatal care due to the later pediatrician referral about Emma’s behavior. Through text evidence Emma’s mother may have endured stress while pregnant with Emma as evident by several years of marital problems. Emma’s biological function is that she was born at full term and at the age of 5 she has met all her early developmental milestone. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2016), at this age Emma is able to count to ten, use the toilet on her own, tell a simple story using full sentences and much more milestones.
Introduction When receiving this assignment, my interest fell towards patient interactive systems. I am intrigued with advanced technology and its role in providing patient positive outcomes. In my current area of work, Labor and Delivery, we have come a long way over the years with technology. For patients, there is a wireless electronic fetal monitor called the Monica, which makes it easy for the mother to change positions while in labor, without her nurse adjusting the monitor (Monica Healthcare, 2015).
Screenings As a student at Central Ohio Technical College, I plan to become a radiologist tech. My decision to become a radiologist tech just came to me all of a sudden. I was at work at the time during the summer, and my friend/co-worker wanted me to go to school with him. I ask him “to study what”?
Modern hospitals have undergone tremendous technological advances and patient-focused changes over the past 50 years, culminating in facilities that offer world class care, patient safety, and compassionate attention. Despite this safe and seemingly comfortable environment, a small of women chooses to decline the hospital setting to give birth in their own homes. Giving birth in the house with proper medical care is generally safer than giving birth in a hospital due to the reduced risk of infections or diseases. Home birth is not a risk in itself, but if there are sudden complications or the mother is not able to naturally give birth, this presents problems, as there is no one to conduct Caesarean section or provide some painkillers through
Case Scenario 6 – Caesarean section – patient choice Delivery by a Caesarean section has become more common over the last several years for a number of various reasons. The old saying “once a c-section, always a c-section”, however, no longer is true. Many women who have had a baby by Caesarean section could deliver their next child vaginally if they so choose. In this case scenario, clinicians are confident that the labour would progress without a complication and that there would not be a need for a Caesarian section. However, the clinician’s opinion conflicts with the mother’s wish to have a C-section.
