Narration Essay I just finished High school, so I was ready to go to college. I had thoughts about the subject at the time, because I heard that college is harder than High school. All I can think about is how should I go about starting out in college? I could ask some questions while I’m there.
After high school I am hoping to attend Indiana University to major in Human Biology in pursuit of one day becoming a physician’s assistant. During my high school years I have put fourth much effort to succeed to the best of my ability. I have taken many courses throughout the years that have pushed me and allowed me to start shaping the career path that I plan to take. During the summer before my junior year I found out that my parents were getting a divorce. When I found out, the only thing I could think about was how my life was never going to be the same.
My primary goal for attending college is to be financially fit and also use the knowledge I’ve gained to help underprivileged youth achieve their goals. I come from a poor background where I have struggled to make ends meet. I didn’t receive any scholarships to attend college after high school so I skipped it. The cost of college is a burden that I couldn’t have taken. I used the motivation of when I took time away from school surrounded by people in situations I never wanted to be in.
Returning to college has been an exciting and terrifying decision for me. My husband has encouraged me for 1-2 years, but my fear of failure overwhelmed me and kept me from pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to pursue. I’m now on this journey and ready for whatever it is that God has planned for me. I have worked hard encouraged my three kids as they transitioned their way through elementary school through middle school and on to high school and graduation.

My most significant endeavor since attending community college would be helping my community to receive an Adult Daycare. Thought this endeavorer I have applied my knowledge that I have learned about the disease to educate others in my community who may not have to know the impact of it. I have also used and sought the aid of my relationship that I have built by being at my community college. This Adult Daycare service or Coltrane LIFE center is something that I am passionate about having in my hometown. My grandpa has Alzheimer's and I have seen the stress that tolls on the family and caregiver.
I graduated back in 2013 from a pretty decent school district. During high school I wasn’t an A student or a B student, I just did what I needed in order to pass. Once I got to my junior of high school I started taking things more seriously, I started making A’s and B’s. Once my senior year started the pressure was on. Everyone asking “what college are you thinking about attending?”
While preparing for college I already knew what I was going into. Coe College is roughly the same size as my high school in my hometown. To be honest, I had a grand plan to do well in college. By my senior year I would like to say I was very accomplished; In four years I became a model student and I was in leadership positions and became voted homecoming queen.
It was a big stoned building that sat on the left side of the street it was on the same street the brown vs board had there march. The Sanctuary is a place where I can get a complete quietness. Even when I have a lot on my mind it just seems like God erases everything that I have on my mind; my last week before I committed to independence community college to play football. I had a long talk with God just to make sure I made the right decision in choosing the right school. I have a lot of memories in this church the place where my Mom and Dad got married at, where I first got my very first bible.
I am also the first in my family attaining an education. I did not have my mother’s insight of what to do and/or what to expect from college. My main support were my counselors; they helped me not feel alienated as a student. Despite all the circumstances and
With senior year of high school coming to a close, comes an overwhelming amount of stress about moving away to college. At the beginning of this school year, I was eager to leave and excited to go away, but I came to a realization that leaving home alarms me. At this point in time, I began to notice just how much my parents do for me and just ruminating about everything I would have to do on my own now, makes me nervous. School has never been an issue for me but what my friends say about college, makes it even more petrified to go. Being constantly asked questions like, “how do you always get your work done?” or “how do you have such good time management?” reassures me that I will do fine in college.
My journey has not been easy to accomplish. I returned to school at the age of 48, I successful graduated from Tidewater Community college and received my associates in Human services. When I returned to school In Aug 2010 I was homeless, the first year with three older children, I eventual moved into my friends converted garage, where I lived with my sons. To this day I still don’t understand why my family is not concerned with my academics. However I have learned to just accept it. In a way I am glad I received, or should I say the lack of receiving, any aid from them. Under these conditions I have developed thicker skin and overall developed into a strong minded, driven, and independent person. With everything in mind, this is exactly why I want to attend college.
The family 's source of income derives from my father 's single job as a server at a hotel. In the family, there are a total of six family members including my father. Also, my brother attends to college where my father set aside a great portion of his income for his college education due to my father 's connotation towards loans. The university is costly, and this has greatly shortened the income. My grandmother and mother are in an unstable condition as their are medical issues that accompany both of them.
