Grew up in a rural area a tiny place named Bird Cove, no roads nor electricity until in the 50th. Gasoline lamps lighted up the darkness of our homes. Wood stoves kept bodies warm during the day and at night. Kept the hungry belly filled to content because families were able to cook daily meals on the
Every since I was a little girl, I have liked playing softball. I started at the age of 9, now I'm 12 and love the sport. I hope to be playing it for a long time. When I'm older, I hope to be like Jennie, and love softball just as much as I do now. Jennie has taught me to follow my dreams, and accomplish what I believe I can do.
My dad would pick me up from school, sometimes early, and we would ride the bart station 45 minutes to the Ballpark. After my first visit, I fell in love with the game of baseball. I was drawn to the game for those defining characteristics that set baseball apart. The individuality, constant strategies, the history, but most of all, its timelessness. Living in a world that is so worried about time and constant change, baseball has been the one thing I have felt completely drawn too.
On 07/01/17, at 3:21pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to Kids Kingdom Childcare and Learning Center (970 Oakland Park Ave), on a dog at large, no known owner. I arrived at the location and met with complainant Latanya Cox and victim Jamaal Cox Jr. Ms. Cox stated that she sent her grandson outside to retrieve something from her vehicle. When her grandson returned, he stated that a brown and white pit bull was outside growled and approached him. He was able to get inside before the pit bull caused any harm. Ms. Cox escorted me outside where she point out a white house just behind the childcare center.
I fell in love with the sport. Too bad its only for guys. My family tells me that I should do softball and I guess I will try it but it just wont be the same for me because I love baseball. The day I get to go to a Dodger game I will be super happy!!!
It was a sunny afternoon we are at the farm in Hillman. I was waiting to go whitetail deer hunting. My dad was talking to his friend Buzz for a very long. Finally my dad was done talking and we started walking out to the edge of a barley field. I was using my dad 's 270.
At the beginning of every morning we get up get dressed and go to the pasture to check on cows and calves. Well one morning Jack went to the pasture and discovered something really odd. One of our good cows had scratches and was bleeding. So he went and took a closer look at this cow to see what the problem was and he found out that it was big claw marks.
Baseball has been my whole life since I old enough to remember I have been around big leaguers since the day I was born, my dad played pro ball, I have had over 13 cousins play major league baseball, and over 20+ family members play minor baseball. I remember the going to the clubhouse after games going to the all star game to see my godfather who happens to be one of the best dominican baseball players to ever play the game, Vladimir Guerrero and to top that off his son Vlad Guerrero Jr. is the top MLB prospect for the Toronto blue jays going into this season. Baseball is my life and I will die playing the game as long as I can. Currently In my baseball career I have accepted a scholarship to play baseball at the university of illinois urbana champaign, I am one of the top players in the country, and I am talking and getting looked at a couple MLB teams to be drafted out of high school and go straight to the
Growing up in my house something baseball related was always going on. I made the decision to dedicate my life to baseball when I was young. Baseball became more than a sport to me. It was not just an activity to do after school anymore. It became much more than that.
¨Now coming up to the plate for the Horned Frogs number 17, Mario Rivera!¨ In five years I pray this is the chance I will get to have, to hear my name while walking up to the plate, name in shining lights, people cheering my name. I pray that this opportunity comes to me as I dream to play baseball for my favorite college, The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs. Just imagine it the chance to play college baseball for the college you have have keeping up with since eight, boy do I hope I can have the special opportunity to accomplish something that big. First of all, I think this would be a great experience for me because I know many adults who have exclaimed the college baseball experience to be a joyride of fun as you travel coast to
I have been cheering for five years now. I can not remember the times when I was not a cheerleader, it is hard to imagine myself doing anything other than cheer or simply not cheering at all. I fell in love with the sport and within time, my passion towards it grew even more. Cheerleading consumed my life, it was my only focus. I was fortunate enough to grow up with coaches that pushed me to reach limits I did not even know I had, as well as teammates whom I shared the same passion towards the sport with.
Sports is everything to me, it gets me through life, teaches me lessons, and makes me who I am. My first sport that I ever played was baseball. Whenever me and my family went to the park it was to do drills and play baseball. Being the youngest and believe it or not the shortest it seemed that's all we did.
Sadly, my enjoyment of baseball was short-lived. As I transitioned into middle school, the sport became more competitive than enjoyable. Rather than hearing cheers and
Playing baseball is something that would show up on a college application but its importance in my life can’t be overstated. Baseball has taught me many life lessons as well as opened doors that wouldn’t exist without it. The people that I have met, the coaches who have taught me the game, have all had a profound impact on the player and the person that I am today. Baseball has changed my life completely. It has created a strong work ethic because if you aren’t concerned with getting better then someone will pass you by.
I found my love for horses around the age of five. I began to notice them driving to and fro my home in Lake St. Louis. By default I was given a perfect view of the white painted barn and the paddocks where the horses were grazing happily. For my fifth birthday I was given a pack of four horseback riding lessons.
