Failure is an opportunity for some to improve and build upon themselves so they have a better chance to succeed in the future. My junior year at Western Branch was an exciting one with a lot of surprises and disappointments. That year my track team came close to winning the state championship, but with a lot bad performances by the team, myself included, we were not able to overcome the competition. It was an even greater blow when the girls’ side of the team won, despite the boys’ team having more naturally talented athletes. The work that we put in during the summer, fall, and winter felt like it was for nothing more than to lose some weight and get in shape.
We lost our first game of the season. That game chanleged us all. Would continue to stare at the dirt or reach for the stars. We continued to strugle as team. It was my turn to take charge as a leader for this team, but I letting everything just go bye.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. So the coach said “go” me and my partner which was Robert.
I don’t watch March Madness I don 't like basketball at all. I watch the first one a little because teachers said we could but otherwise I don 't care. I hear people say I have 99% on my bracket or like I got 10%. I never did a bracket but I might do it next year for fun.
Since picking up “The Rock” seven years ago, I’ve come to love basketball, and it’s given me experiences, skills and values emanating beyond the game itself. Whenever I’m feeling stressed, shooting a few hoops with my little sister at the park is a surefire way to relax and have fun. From weight training to running liners, basketball has helped me develop discipline and an appreciation for teamwork. Furthermore, basketball has been my medium to travel across the globe and even take a photo with UMich star Jamal Crawford. From Memorial Day weekend tournaments in downtown San Francisco to spontaneous pick-up games with local high school athletes in Okayama, Japan, time and time again, basketball has transcended language and culture, allowing
To generate as much momentum that I could into my basketball shot, I had to stretch out, and use all my body segments, time my body segments, sequence my body segments and use full range of motion. By stretching out my muscles before performing the free throw, my muscles were able to contract with optimal force and therefore assist to generating maximum force and momentum. Using all of my body segments meant that
As a little boy I had big dreams of playing football. When I was walking in the halls of the intermediate and middle school and saw the high school football players with their jerseys on, they were like super stars. I looked up to them because I wanted to be like them. The high school football players were popular, they were happy, and they were important to the school. Going to the football games on Friday nights was the highlight of my week.
Michael Jordan stole the ball from Karl Malone. Nineteen seconds left in the fourth quarter. Jordan with the ball. Seventeen seconds left. Jordan drives.
It was a beautiful Friday afternoon playing softball for only a short amount of time until I noticed a pain that was constant and was not going away. I continued to play not thinking it was something serious. Soon after my arm went numb and tingly, everyone was very concerned, especially my parents. I went to multiply doctors until we found out what was wrong, I had an inflamed and irritated rotator cuff and an inflamed tendon. I did not think I would ever play again and neither did my teammates, coaches, and family members.
I took any failure as a lesson to improve myself. We didn 't win that season, but this time I wasn 't depressed about the loss. I promised myself I would work hard at any goal I want to accomplish. That way, win or lose, I have confidence that I tried
I love the most my last basketball event ! I took part in that sporting event. It was in my school. All students and teachers were there. We were very excited and a bit nervous because our enemy was class 6/1 who was very good at basketball.
Shawn walked cautiously down the hall and opened the door after hearing a loud bang, boom, boom, boom! And realized what had made the loud crashing noise. He saw a car speed off as his mom laid on the concrete, covered with blood. Immediately, Shawn bust out in tears and hugs his mom, as she breathes slowly and is close to death. “Son i love you,” all of the sudden she lets go of his hand.
One night me and my friend went out to play basketball. As we were playing the worker told us we had 20 minutes left. My friend went to the restroom, so I went to go get some water as I was walking I heard a diffident sound which wasn't usual. I heard some one bouncing a basketball I walked out quickly and I saw a shot go in the hoop but no one was out there. I went to the bathroom and just waited for my friend.
I've learned that you should never give up, and always try your best. My story started this year. I had just tried out for a competitive basketball league and I was very anxious because I didn't know what to expect at tryouts and what to expect if I made the team. I was scared I was going to mess or do something incorrect. I'd been playing basketball since the 2nd grade, so I was an experienced player.
It was game day today. My teammates and I had a game against our rivalry high school Alta and we were pumped because we have beaten them every year since 2014. This year felt like we would keep that streak up and in motion. They had 6 really tall players while we only had 2. It made us all nervous for a while until we seemed to get over it.
