I guess the one thing that has truly defined my life is the true lack of a permanent place. It was easier to move around when I was younger. Just my mom, dad, and I going across North America. It was easier because I wasn’t in school yet, or it wasn’t as important to miss a few days of kindergarten. As time passed, it became harder, it’s hard for a young girl to really travel around the North American continent, especially when it comes to schooling, I could’ve been homeschooled, but my parents really weren’t up for the task. 5 pre schools, 3 elementary, 1 middle school, and 2 high schools. That's the story of my life. School after school. 7 differents houses around the North American continent, and one permanent one. As a child, I always liked to define myself as a constant outsider, someone who was never really gonna fit in. I was always gonna be the new girl. and two, I shared this story on Tumblr and received a message from Rick Riordan saying three words, “I remember you” I have since been blocked by the author of my favorite children’s book. ___________________________________________________________ Moving to Tampico was one of the biggest decisions of my life,It had already been offered to me in the past, but I had declined them. I hadn’t felt like I was ready to leave all of my life behind. I guess it perhaps didn’t feel like it would’ve been my choice, either. One day the small retirement town felt stuffy, yet empty at the same time. It had too many people pretending to belong in a place where they didn’t, it lacked familiarity. Perhaps the thing I was seeking was a sense of permanence, for once in my life.
